Title: Chris Cook....one of the smart ones
Post by: BEEFYHEAVYWEIGHT on September 06, 2017, 07:34:11 PM
Wasnt willing to die for us, nor for a fucking trophy. Got out quick before he destroyed his health like the Dallas's, Piana's and multiple others. The guy probably knew that he would never be the best...or just wasnt willing to die for it. Supposedly got bitten by the MMA bug too, but maybe that too, helped to get him the fuck out of this beauty pageant formuscles.

he wasn't placing high

it is very humbling to not do well in whatever sport you participate in, no shame in quitting if you're no good

I wrestled around with a 145-lb female black belt in karate who also had high level wrestling and a fair amount of Jiu-Jitsu.  I would say it was a draw to be honest.  Knowing nothing about wrestling, I was not able to pin her, nor was she able to pin me, knowing basically everything about both wrestling and, especially, karate.  So that sort of answered the question to me as to who would win in a fight - a national/world level 145-lb female karate black belt vs. a national level 170-lb strongman.

I think bodybuilders know that 99% of people won't fight them if they carry a lot of size, hence the draw to bodybuilding.  But if you want to beat other people up, you need to take up fighting.  I do feel that I can hold my own, generally speaking.  But only against people who don't know how to fight.

Never heard of him but based on that photo he looks 10 times better than Phillip Heath.

He had no back and no chest

He prob would have done well if he "paid his dues" they were really pushing him to be the next big thing

Nice guy too

There was a 2005 guest-posing where Chris felt that he did not look anywhere near his best, so he refunded the guest-posing fee he made.  It may have been from that guest-pose, but I'm not sure.  I seem to recall he looked even worse than that - he looked both small and soft.  He looks ok in those guest-posing photos.  Obviously not very good, but not the worst.  He is carrying some muscle mass at least - to be both small and soft would have been worse.

Yes - I think Chris was smart to realize that in order to beat someone in a fight, youu need to...actually know how to fight.  Having muscle mass is/was more of intimidation thing.

Why are there so many dudes on this forum who hate and dis bodybuilding? It makes no sense. If you can't stand it then why come to a bodybuilding forum? This place is rife with guys who don't even lift.

Hey joon, cool account
