Are you blind?

flex and kevin must suffer from mental illness, or they did't save/invest any of their bbing money in their prime? you don't see shawn ray's fat ass doing this.

Damn. Mofo looks pretty sick for a 52 year old. Give him another full year of intense training and he'd actually be a threat to cracking the top 6.

Haters going to hate. He looks pretty damn impressive all things considering. What do you look like princess behind your keyboard? :-*

All These Comments, but I CAN'T See SHIT!...Where Da Fuck is the pic?

Showing More leg shots than Levrone did in the past 10 years!....Gotta Give Him Credit! ;D

Me too
-
Quite the physique for someone closing in on 60!
-
Isn't he on borrowed kidneys? Are we supposed to be proud of that? ???
-

Dan serious question was it his goal to look good for a 52 year old? Because as a competitor he's always looked good whatever his age was.
You don't hear people talking about how "good" Jordan would be in the NBA today at 52, or Bonds or Elway respectively.
Yeah he looks good, but he's flex wheeler so the standard is high .
-
Legs are cross-striated and look good, not huge but still look good. Kevin should train legs with Flex.
-
Isn't he on borrowed kidneys? Are we supposed to be proud of that? ???
Yes He is, and even in those circumstances, He is kicking Ass!!...(Somehow)... ::)

Come on man.

Looks great, an absolute shoo in for 16th place.

Not surprising.

Not surprising.
Bullshit.
He looked awful with a shirt on this entire prep. Plus he's got one kidney, and that's from his sister.
I absolutely expected an embarrassment.

None of us here make money from it, maybe we all just enjoy it as they do?
WHAT A CONCEPT!!

Bullshit what? How can he look horrible covered up? He looked like nothing covered up be he was covered up. Someone who is truly ripped won't look big especially at 210. He will look awesome on stage and I'll predict a win or at least 2nd.

Look at the thread I posted about him a week or two ago, you couldn't tell he had any must underneath, plus he was using baby weights because that's all his kidneys can handle

Well no offense you were obviously wrong. He didn't build all that in a week. His kidneys haven't a clue what weights he is using. He did at minimum what he had to do to get back enough muscle to compete in the classic division. From what I seen of his diet he ate a very healthy one. A lot of guys in here could learn a thing or two from him.

Fill me in.
-
If you turn the volume up enough you can hear his kidney screaming.
-
Wow, well we finally see his legs. His quads and hams are pretty separated and hard despite being wayyy smaller than before.
Calves look to be completely gone. Oh well.
Back width wasn't great back in 99 or 02 or whenever, but worse now.
I'm curious what he's gonna do about all that water he's holding. Dude looks super watery and was known for holding a shit ton of water back in the day. Curious how his body holds up with the diuretics and "harder" drugs like Halotestin.
-
looks like shit imo
oily arms
his only transplated kidney is about the be fried aswell

You really think he can win the classic division against breon, bumfuckstead, Hester, arash, etc?
He looks pretty good I must say by himself but line them up and we shall see
Everyone was saying how good Kevin looked leading up to the O last year then what happened when he stood in the line up
-
Looking GREAT - props.
Hope he hasn't hurt himself in the process.

Great responder or not, thats a lot of stress he's putting on one kidney that was part used when he got it....
Not a great lifestyle choice.

Are you on cocaine or meth to post at this rate and this level of stupidity?
-
is there some way we can get people to stop posting about their health "concerns" regarding bodybuilders?
imagine a msg board back in the day when guns n roses was touring following their worldwide tour and every other member on the board was talking about their unhealthy lifestyle instead of the music?
imagine a msg board about mountain climbing and every other thread is about "yeah well i bet he will fall down and break his neck!" "not a smart move, getting into mountain climbing considering the health risks..." "all that for a great view..."
imagine a msg board about porn, and every other post is "did you guys see that? he went without a condom again in that scene!" "yes i saw it... what an idiot, i bet he will get teh aids!" "fucking all those girls and risking a disease... no thanks! "amen to that, thats why im still a virgin!"

Is that a complisult?
In any event, you are correct. I respect Shawn's approach to actually RETIRE upon retirement.
That said, he doesn't even seem to want to workout anymore. Perhaps the years/decades of intense training turned him off from it completely. If so, that is sad.

Wearing long sleeve socks in calf shots is atleast creative :-)

He looks amazing.....I think he will do great in this division............howe ver he does not have the mass for the open class.

I noticed that, look proper funky.

So the question remains, how long before a GoFuckMeŽ site is up for Fuxks Wheeler's new kidney? Doubtless his kidney will crap out but only because unknown to our hero, the original owner turned donor had congenital kidney problems in their fambly. 'n' sheit.
-

Anyone who professionally competes in bodybuilding on an ongoing basis is mentally ill; and, they probably have enough since neither one has a regular job, but they miss the adrenaline rush and ego trip of having several hundred people gawking at them on stage and recording them with their meep machines to upload to social media later.
Shawn Ray actually did make a personal comeback in the mid-2000s; it was a video feature of him going to the doctor, getting poor results on blood panels drawn recently, and slowly getting himself back into sixpack shape. I'll try to find it later on. But then again that was 10+ years ago so he may have backslid.
Found it

No idea - Nasser had too many buttlickers on here... didn't even need to wipe his ass.
I think it was SheriffSniffSomething... Nasser most likely got killed after he denied some getbiggers access to his well mannered penis.

Sharieff Baby, there you go. God that guy was pathetic and he almost had a nervous breakdown when his thong-selling idol died 4 years ago.
I almost respected Nasser at one time in the '90s but the selling his shorts and underwear on his site was one line I couldn't cross. That's demented. That's Rodney St. Cloud + Kai Greene weird.

It's all about the money. Imagine working at a supermarket or selling your thong to some repressed dingle-sniffer... easy choice.

I thought about it.
I still can't do it. I guess when nothing matters and you have no dignity left because your main revenue source went offline, you'll do anythin to survive. Still, he worked at a gas station, so he didn't have that excuse available. He was just a deviant and far from broke considering the cycles he ran after hanging up the thong.

Agreed. I also didn't like his penchant for backstabbing and intentionally giving bad advice only to laugh behind the poor saps' backs. He was also known for his tall tales; e.g., lying about (and later sidestepping) horrific synthol abuse, and that ridiculous excuse he offered for benching less than fucking Genova at that stupid Muscletech v. Weider 225 for rep bench contest. (In fairness, Nasser did 15 perfect, slow reps with total ease. It was clear he could've kept on going, but he just quit, then told the commentator he wasn't used to high reps, y'know, seeing as how he was "used to WORKING with about 600 POUNDS.". Yeah, Nasser...Fortress on here saw you train, struggling like a bitch to incline 315 for a few whilst weighing about the same. WEAK for a man as fuck-off huge as he was.)
-
he looks better than I could have ever imagined
-
Haha, that's why this board is a trove of insider info you won't necessarily find anywhere. I'd never heard of that bench press contest or that he knew Genova.
I remember at one expo him telling some skinny hardgainer to "eat more Mcdonalds" if he wanted to bulk up for a show. Totally horrible advice in training AND dieting. Then again maybe he believed his own stories because:
And I wonder if it's ever been proven for a fact he was GH15 or better yet for how long he was on that account.

Wait a damn minute ... You just posted something without mentioning your bodyweight and strongman shows! What gives?! :D
Aside: it looks like your "sunken treasure" chest filled out. Given that you have always been a pretty good bencher, particularly for your weight, I was a bit surprised to see you complain so about your pecs a few years back. Then I saw you train :D. LOL. Form, form, form. You were rebounding the bar quicker than Robin Meade and Kate Mulgrew could tag-smoke a carton of Marlboros. I reckon you introduced some paused benching?
-

Burger King or Wendy's, naturally. Duh!
;). I kid. Did you win your show, or is it pending?

not doing it mate, going to wait until next year, likely switch organisations as well, NABBA seems to be getting taken over.

Something more aligned with bodybuilding, I guess, like four cups of rice, 20-30 oz of red meat, a jar of peanut butter
you know, the Matarazzo/Brewer diet
-
he looks better than I could have ever imagined
I must confess, I'm a bit surprised too. I think Palumbo said he saw and was very impressed by Flex's wheels awhile back, but after Dave's bullshit about Kevin Overblowne last year, I took that with a kiloton of salt. Hmph. Guess Dave was right. We'll see how the dude looks onstage...

makes zero difference to your body composition what you eat, as long as you get some protein in for muscle gain you can eat whatever you like, excel cals on a bull, reduce cals on a cut, its that simple.

I imagine it makes a big difference to your lipid profile and BP what your sodium and saturated fat intake is, not to mention sugar
granted, we weren't discussing health but there was a time when bodybuilders paid lip service to healthier routes to bulking than six big macs and a chocolate shake
-

Oh, okay. Best of luck, regardless of the federation. I'm 39 and a half, but after some surgeries and a resulting hernia, I dunno I'll ever match my pre-hospital best, but as memory serves, you've got several years on me and continue to hold it down. Kudos.
Oh, and no homo :D

times are a changing, flexible dieting is the way forward.
Sure, eat some high quality protein carbs and fats but add in something you like as well.
4 meals of chicken and rice is no better for you than three chicken and rice and a Big Mac if your calories are the same.

keep that chin up

Great advice, I've always looked like shit but now at least I can do it on bacon and egg sandwiches, full fat milk and 20 bags of crisps a day rather than eating fucking bland shite 6 times a day. For me at least it made zero difference

Refined sugars vs long chain/complex carbs does make a big difference.

According to the IFBB rules for the classic physique, if you are between 5'8" and 5'9" (Flex is stating that he is 5'9" for this competition) that you cannot be over 195 pounds for that height in this division of the classic physique, so Flex will show up at MAXIMUM 195 pounds for the competition.

They also have rules against steroid and diuretic use, right
o rite
-
flex looks better than i thought he would, tattoos are hideous
-
Flex doesn't look very good.
Sure, he's put on muscle, but the whole package looks shitty. For his age he looks quite good, but then again, a boatload of guys his age could and do look every bit as good, and better, than Wheeler.
It's called drugs and above-average genetics.
(Concerning his hams, a couple posters suggest he's oiled them. Dumb. They appear as they always did.)
I honestly think very few here have eyes for bodybuilding. Wheeler really doesn't look anywhere near top-flight status.

I guess he downgraded an inch in height so he can make the height division ;D
He's 5'10
-
he reads getbig obviously.. we got in his head....hes a hyper a responder to the drugs... shrinks to nothing when off(400-600mg of test a week)... Coleman/Heath have natural genetics and are hyper responders... thats why they are olympians.. you have to have the combination of the both.. look at younger Coleman pics and Heath.. naturally muscular... known guys who are natural muscular and didnt hyper respond to juice.... when you have the combination of both... you own...

So, you can just tell them how tall you are?
-
So, you can just tell them how tall you are?
They are going to measure height with Jim Quinn's calipers
-
Ughh... are you reading NPC weight/height? I'm 5'10.5-11" and IFBB weight is 210 at just over 5'10". So if he's slightly over 5'9" he can be 202 if over 5'10" 210 .http://www.ifbbpro.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/advisorynotice_110716.jpg
-
His kidneys will shut down for good soon.
-
Seems he has only one functional (transplanted) kidney.
Kidney failure and tumors are one of the potential side effects of performance-enhancing drug use, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis or not.
He will end in hospital soon.
-
So, you can just tell them how tall you are?
you can go up and down an inch by flaring your legs out and bending your knees slightly.
NABBA used to be 5'10 for tall class, so if you were 5'10 bang on you could do the class below just by crunching down a little, I imagine Flex is able to do the same.
-
mix them together and it matters not a jot.
When you're on drugs, thyroid and other compounds it doesn't.
-
Don't worry Flex is perfectly healthy ::)
stanefferdingFLEX WHEELER - A journey 10 months in the making will reach its destination next Friday on the Mr Olympia stage. .
▶️Hate to sound so fatherly but I couldn't be more proud of Flex's discipline, consistency and time management. He prioritized his family, his health and his career. He attended all of his sons college football games, lost over 30lbs of fat and improved ALL of his blood health markers on each of his last 4 blood tests prompting his kidney specialist to ask him how he did it (Hint: Lose 30lbs of fat, fixes just about everything!!). And he maintained an aggressive international travel schedule for BlackSkull while staying on his meal prep. .
▶️He's created a sustainable healthy balanced lifestyle at a much lighter body weight (Competing at 210lbs), eating much healthier and training much smarter to avoid injury. "Stimulate, don't annihilate" he always told me (In one ear ... that's why I'm always mending an injury!!)
-
Looking great and trains much more sensibly than Levrone.
But like Levrone he's coming in super conditioned (respect for that) but like Levrone it will be at the expense of some muscle.
He looks better than I expected. Arms a little fake looking but rest good for sure.
-

I've heard him mention at least 4 times in videos he has to be 210
and then correlated that to him weighing 214 at the 93 ASC.
195 would probably end his kidney.
Flex & Kevin both are pretty lose with the facts I've noticed.
He told so many tall tales to sensationalize that book.
Recently, He said his best ever was the Grand Prix after the 1999
Olympia.
1. He said Ronnie told him that Flex should have beat him.
2. That he weighed 256...don't believe it.
3. Then he said his glutes & hams were all striated at that show.
Video & picture evidence tells otherwise.
One that many talk about where he was probably his most conditioned
and probably a little over 230 was the 98 Arnold.
His shoulders were puffy for the 98 Ironman but it had to be Esciline
because they were down and striated by the ASC. McGough, Arnold
and Chad thinks it was his most competitive physique bodybuilding wise.

When you're on drugs, thyroid and other compounds it doesn't.
do you really think adding a snickers in your diet in place of a bowl of potato or rice is going to make a difference to your body composition.
If so why?

Believe this why? But even if you do believe some of it, his having 4 blood tests in 10 months indicates something for anyone who cares to read between the lines (and it ain't kidney monitoring)
-
I've heard him mention at least 4 times in videos he has to be 210
and then correlated that to him weighing 214 at the 93 ASC.

When Flex was at a lighter weight at the 93 Arnold, that is where his glutes and hams were striated. I think that he doesn't want to admit that the best he ever looked was his rookie year and that he was hit or miss after that.

This is " Flex Wheeler " the guy on the bottom is Kenny
-
I've been looking for that article on Flex written in 03-04 in Muscular Development titled "The Agony of Flex Wheeler." It showed him barely holding his body weight on a steel walker in a hospital gown post-surgery.
Now he's back to this.
These guys don't learn. Daz Ball took a kidney from his own mother and is busy frying that one. Don Long was on dialysis and went back to competing. Justin Compton same thing. These guys aren't just stupid, they're fucking selfish and deserve to die.
-
Solid out of top 6 finish. Darrem and other guys will take him. Legs look descent but thats it.

Flex knows he wont steal an OLYMPIA win so he choose to steal Mr OLYMPIA's patented phrase instead.
Typical flex taking the easy way out.

When you actually think about it, free of the hype, chattering, etc., it truly is moronic what Flex is doing.
Here's a buffoon who is riding with one (borrowed) kidney, making a "comeback" many years after the fact, and risking it all only to look a mere shadow of what he once was. Well over two decades past his best.
During his prime, Flex was asked if he'd continue weight training after he retired. He responded he would likely never again set foot in a gym.
Wheeler was never of the iron.
Yates, 20 years past retirement, is living a good life, and here's his nearest competitive combatant re-donning a thong to pose down in some drippy "classic" division.
Hey, get back in the gym, if that's what you wanna do, but stay off the frigging stage.
Just because you were one of the best doesn't mean you are necessarily hardcore.
Flex was NEVER hardcore.
He's a narcissist wingnut.
-
He also admitted steroids at 17 onward
so he never built a base or trained without being enhanced

This is the long way to say "all drugs".

Lol I remember him being quoted as saying when he would stay out the gym after retiring.
Spot on otherwise.
I'm going to disagree about one thing though flex is hardcore, because he's putting his life on the line for a show that realistically he wont even be competitive in. Does
Darem Charles do well in this class?

That's what I've been saying for years
That's another reason why I think he's overrated, his 93 form was one of the best of all time and after that it was hit or miss and his body looked all strange with oil and playing the size game in which he couldn't carry the mass on his small frame

Makes you respect tom prince a lot more these days
Went on dialysis, got a new kidney and said fuck this shit and never returned

100% agree. I seems they are inable to project their designs into the future and develop. Very low intelligence quotient.

Refined sugars vs long chain/complex carbs does make a big difference.
no it doesn't....they all become glycogen in the liver and muscles.....keep trying
-
2000 ASC. Pretty ripped but still soft glutes...
-
He lost his kidneys for us bitches. What more do you want from him??
-
The ironic thing is that Flex is probably working harder now than he did in his prime.
I reckon all he'd have to do is up the dosage and increase protein by say 150gms a day and he'd be a threat in the BB open. He'd be like levrone last year, only with legs.
Don't think his kidney's would survive the last week of prep for the open though.
They'll give him token top 10. His body doesnt "pop" like the younger guys do, but won't know til he's actually next to them on stage. A guy like Arash might make him look old I think, but good on Flex, I'm curious to see it.

He's still training in is 50s and looks great. But "Wheeler was never of the iron"?
That makes no sense whatsoever.
Tony Pearson is in his 60s, still training, guest posing, and occasionally competing. But, I guess he's not of the iron, either.
What does Dorian Yates have to do with anything? BTW, Yates donned a "thong" just like Wheeler. But, yet Yates was "hardcore" while Wheeler was/is a narcissist wing nut?
Yet on the other hand, we have people on this site who wish their favorites from the 90s and 2000s to comeback, because they can't stand the current Mr. Olympia, Phil Heath.
-
I might have to eat up my prediction of last place. He looks much better now. Diced quads etc. I think i am doomed bros.
-
2000 ASC. Pretty ripped but still soft glutes...
What's up with the shiny/glossy lighting? He does look pretty good there though.

Think its a fan-shot VHS rip or something.

Honestly Flex looks fucking awesome here.
-
Damn. Mofo looks pretty sick for a 52 year old. Give him another full year of intense training and he'd actually be a threat to cracking the top 6.
And he'd be back on dialysis.
FFS it's this thinking that keeps landing people 6 feet under.

N Animal cummin all over Wheeler's pics.....
