a 55lb dumbbell that looks like a 200lb dumbbell, should sell well with insecure fuckers.

It's #110 plus whatever the dumbbell (#10 - 15 ) is. They're using the bumper plate color code. That being said, don't see the value for 99% of people. The red 25/55s take up about 7" of a usually 8" Olympic dumbbell sleeve. If you add the collar, you're about out of room to add plates. The people that would be most interested in these are strongmen and odd lift guys, but they're going to pass the weight limit in short order.

These will probably be dust binned soon, unless there's a bunch of middle of the road strength guys that are worried about their floors.

Edit -

Hold the phone -

"Dumbbell Bumpers are NOT meant to be dropped from overhead".

They look cool but I don't understand the point if they can't be dropped.

That's kind of what bumpers are for.

They can be dropped but the website needs to say they can't be so they're not libel for some retard dropping it on his head or feet and breaking his toes.

and they will be in the same dusty corner of every gym a year from now, sharing space with the kettlebells, trx straps, bosu balls, battle ropes  and therapeutic bands not being used once the fad is over and enough people need surgery

yes they will.

everything always comes back to barbells, dumbells, cables and machines.

they are the only constants since gyms began

always

Of course barbells and dumbbells are timeless, and are as popular as ever.  But all the things you mentioned have been around as long as barbells and such.  Kettlebells, especially.

It's just that people are wising up favoring them now instead of machines and the like.
