Title: 2017 Olympia - William Bonac will be the Mr O when Phil retires
Post by: Darren Avey on September 16, 2017, 02:57:00 AM
Look at the package, the separation, the cuts, the sweeps. Its a package of spectacularism that is unparralelled in those that will follow Wide Phil.

He's the next Dexter Jackson.

This prediction would've been so much more impressive if you had stated it BEFORE prejudging  ::)

Maybe, but he isn't from the US and has too many strange attributes to ever be considered a viable "face of bbing." He will never be more than a 2-6 placing guy.

Title: Any room for improvement for Bonac tonight?
Post by: Royalty on September 16, 2017, 01:46:00 PM
During the Chris Acteto and Chad Nicholls interview with RxMuscle; this was the assessment on Bonac on Friday night:

0% Flatness

100% Fullness

So if Bonac tries to carb up a little more today, he is going to spill over and lose conditioning. If he tries to come in tighter he will flatten out.

Anyone see Bonac improving on his Friday look?

He needs the Dex midsection and consistency.

His stomach was a little distended, but less than others. I don't know how, but if he can get his stomach under control, it would be an improvement.

However, I am not too sure how much it would matter. He's pretty much top 3. At most, it would push him into 2nd and Ramy into 3rd, which is obviously a good thing. But no amount of improving will make him 1st. I guess the question is, how far does he want to push his body to go from possible 3rd to 2nd while acknowledging that he won't be 1st.

Either way, he still needs to keep it together so that others don't come in looking better tonight and push him out of the top 3.

I think that if Dexter carbs up more, and comes in fuller tonight, Dex might move up if anyone in the top 3 screws up.

Good point. Dexter can definitely move up if he brings it tonight. I guess that would push Bonac to make changes by tonight in order to stave off guys like Dexter and possibly Curry.

Curry is the one to watch. Better lines than Phil, better V taper than all except Rhoden. He's brought his legs up. Flat mid section, great back, conditioned hams/quads. If Curry keeps improving, he may be the next Mr. O in waiting.

agreed. I actually think he looks better than Phil here. Of course, they are not side by side.

I think that Heath has too much roundness for Curry. But once Phil retires, Curry will have a great shot

Curry has a Chris Cormier look to him with a dramatic taper. If he comes in drier, he will be up there.

Nope

That's what they were saying Vic was going to be, none of them ever pan out

I am not saying Curry will be Mr. O, I think he will be a high placer.
Curry has made considerable improvements, and still has kept his waist and taper. Vic's best showing wasn't even in 2007. It was in the earlier 2000s.

He looks good, but my god he has a short torso. Fucks up his proportions big time. Makes him look stubby.

He's short, but is way more impressive than any of the guys onstage today. He really impressed me since last year. He's light years better than all the current crop of guys (including Phil and Big Ramy). If he was a few inches taller (at least 5'8") it would have been lights out.

He's tapped out. This is it. Looks unreal but it's as good has it's going to get. Listed at 5'7 but isn't even sniffing 5'5. I don't know what is real weight is but Mr. Olympia is out of the question. Drop to 212 and now he's in business.
