Bodybuilding interviews are serious business. Shawn needs to total control over the microphone in order to conduct a thorough interview.
Do not disrupt bodybuilding journalism at its finest.

The G.I. microphone is the scepter of authority. It must not change hands.
-
Journalism 101, never give up control of your microphone.

A pretty decent wireless mike can cost upwards of $1500 or more. Maybe Shawn was told to keep it close..

Woman in the background taking selfies with her tablet. Making sure that she was directly behind the interview.

That makes sense. I seem to recall a UFC where Joe had to stop a fighter from taking the microphone. I know the Young Turks had an incident with an Armenian student attempting to take the mic to call out TYT for being named after the group response for the genocide of over a million Armenians, and the TYT interviewer stopped him from taking the mic, and even looked over the sheet of paper he had with his question, to ensure the student wasn't asking anything that didn't tow the leftist line of TYT. The video is commented on towards the end of this video, covered by Sargon of Akkad:
So yeah - I guess there are good reasons to protect the microphone. What would have happened if Sadik took the mic and didn't hold it close enough to his mouth? I find even with a good mic, if it's even the mic is much more than six inches away, the sound quality is radically different - especially in a noisy expo. Perhaps Sadik thought Shawn was handing him the mic.
Off-topic, but I didn't know that Sadik was Bosnian. I guess I'm not overly familiar with southeastern naming conventions.

Sadik should've taken the Mic and ran. Parsh or no parsh!

LOL!!! @ Sargon stating in that video I linked that he had a parsh just thinking about watching upcoming TYT videos to see how bad they will be.
