Title: Gut Control - Discussion - Ban or not?
Post by: Pet shop boys on October 03, 2017, 06:39:42 AM
Should the IFBB ban every athlete that does not have control of their own damn gut (from any angle) when hitting a mandatory pose ?

IS that the only way to make Bodybuilding great again ??

Get rid of insulin from the sports pageant, don't know if there's a way to test for it.

Or put guys with noticable guts and any oil dead last.

Bodybuilding needs more Big Lenny's, not less.

There's not a single drug guru out there that can get you IFBB ready without a lean , shiny, bubble gut.
Not even mighty Aceto could.

So the answer is NOT. That wouldn't make BB great again , would end it.

So how do the few pros who do turn up with a streamlined waist manage it then?

expecting them to control their guts when hitting a back double bi shot is ridiculous. hitting that pose is unnatural as fuck. you realize it's not like hitting the pose in the gym in the mirror. you gotta twist and angle your back 'down' facing the judges because the judges are sitting down at an angle from the stage. there's no way you can keep your belly in when doing damn near a back walk-over gymnastics thing.

Considering what happened in Las Vegas (the Mandalay bay-hotel incident), i'm sure there are alot of people who'd want this control Pet shop boys.

Myself i wouldn't want them banned.

yea, and samir was like 180lbs.

do you know how they're posing onstage? their twisting their upper bodies back to show the judges who are sitting DOWN from them. they COULD just stand straight up and hit that back double bicep pose and you wouldn't see any gut because they wouldn't have to fold over backwards, but then the judges wouldn't see ANY of their biceps or anterior delts.

listen, just because I have never been onstage, never been in shape, spent the best part of my life in jail/rehab/spaced out on prescription meds and heroin doesn't mean I don't know more about competitive bodybuilding than former competitors and bodybuilding fans...

WoooSSSSSShhhh Who you gonna call ???   GUT BUSTERS

Phil has that playdough/fluffy look going on like never before...never good.  It may be his midsection that has exasperated my perception of it this time around, but he has that weired look to his muscles, reminds me of Daz Ball and we all know where that ended up...

This is why classic is taking off.  The bloated donut look is getting old.

Exactly.  These guys look granite compared to the fluff!

Competitors with Very Obvious use of oil in body parts & Huge distended midsections should be marked down
If they didnt place well the trend would soon stop.

As they are being rewarded with good placings it encourages others to go the same route to win.

I think we should embrace it and have a gut round. Most distension gets a few more points.

I can't comprehend the levels of delusion, body dysmorphia and total ignorance he is on.

Lenny is one of the good guys. He jokes about his abs and various things. Jason, I feel, is delusional. Lenny is just having fun with it. He knows his strengths and weaknesses. Apart from his abs, the rest of his physique is pretty good.

Yeah it's only his abs that let him down... ::) ::)

read once that they intentionally stick out their guts in the RDB because it helps tighten the skin in the back and increase definition.

might be true, might be bullshit, but still looks horrendous

these contests, and the whole bodybuilding thing, was started as the search for 'ultimate male physique' - a look none of these guys have, imho

It takes a great mind to perceive we all live in delusion. He is already there.

He can laugh at himself. He isn't Mr. Olympia but he doesn't have a bad physique either, apart from the abs. If someone was to Photoshop his waist smaller, he'd look terrific.

You really think that....
Cant say i agree at all ---- And a he's long way from looking terrific.

There shouldn't be a gut to control simple as that.  Excuses about being hard to hold it in doing a rdb is ridiculous, if there's no gut it can't stick out

We have had multiple "gut mandates" over the years and it never goes anywhere. Bottom line is schmoes like that pregnant "muscle bear" sorta look and their influence is evident.

People can push their gut out, just as they can squeeze it in. I'm pretty sure that's what he's doing there, for the effect of how opposite it is.

even with the gut pulled in he still has a wideass waist  :-X
