I'm thinking of not renewing. Save $4,500 a years (I'll still purchase vision and dental).
It's such a waste when you don't go and I hate contributing to this evil machine.
-
Geezus Christ didn't you just make this thread last month!?
-
Nobody likes paying insurance, but it sure is nice to have when you need it. The same can be said for auto and homeowners insurance.

If I did I need to renew because I have Alzheimers hahaha

I'm 36, health as all hell. Natural, no drugs or alcohol. Insurance costs me $375/ mo.
Waste of money, and I hate subsidizing old poor people and the urban community.
???
Holy hell youé right! Its cause it's time to renew

$600/month is a bitch
It’s saved my ass a few times - I keep it but private insurance is getting rough
I went to the Dr once last year for sleeping pills tho

Bottom line is you need insurance to avoid a 500,000 heart surgery bill or million dollar cancer bill. That shit will make you bankrupt. Now do you want to go bankrupt and lose your house and money?
Maybe an HSA is cheaper for you. You pay out of pocket but it covers the big catastrophic shit.

In the euroland where I am from everybody is ensured for the same amout of approx $200 per month. Full coverage, top of the bill healthcard and everybody is accepted. It is not even possible to not be accepted ( by law). I pitty USA.

If you are living under the radar (not paying taxes) you would be okay, but if you are filing taxes every year the IRS will penalize you at tax time. They will take all or a portion of your tax return. You can thank Obama for that. I went without health insurance for a few years before this law came into being. I saved a bundle. Luckily, I did not need health care during that time.
All insurance is a scam, but it's a necessary evil. If you ever get into a major accident, the hospital bills would be astronomical. Here's an example: My friend had an appendectomy last year... 2 days in the hospital... total cost = $70,000. I had mine appendix out in 2002 and it was half that price.

And watch you have a freak accident, or get hit by a car, skewered by a wayward tree limb, or bitten by a rabid coyote, and then start moaning about not having insurance.
Be like your Chipotle working relative, and then go out like Onlyme.

There are no signifant waiting lists that I am aware of.
-
You should renew it, esfitness gets three stays in hospital and four rehab plans a year from his.
After all, everyone else pays for you,.

So there are waiting lists, just not "significant"? And define significant.

Its just that I have not heard about or experienced any form of waitng list.

$200?! $150 tops and the coverage just depends on your contract

So you can call up a place and schedule an appointment for dental care (as an example) and there is no wait or back up time? Or maybe a surgical procedure?
