Title: Any non-competitor getbigger ever used water manipulation to look good for vacay
Post by: Thong Maniac on October 24, 2017, 04:50:08 PM
Vacation time and lookin to experiment with taking my unextrodiansry basic gym bod to a better temporary level. Up to 1.5 gallons of water per day, but not sure how to add/reduce salt...or should I not even worry about salt and carbs and just continue with loads of water?

Please don't recommend carb cycling, as I follow calorie is a calorie principle like TA and Be There

if you cut carbs to zero for a few days you'll drop a lot of water.

at 225-235, if i cut carbs to zero, i'll drop 18lbs in 3days w/o changing water intake.

What about cutting calories altogether tho. For example, today I'll probably have 1350 cals total. I'm only 176 now. If I decide to hit up a pumpkin beer for the game tonight, I'll finish at around 1450. That's what I'm usually at so a pretty big deficit

Yeah I dunno that's what I'm curious about. Never been this light before, but look better than usual. Dropping dairy and all meat other than some fish here n there seems to have really streamlined me in a good way. Oddly enough I don't hAve a six pack yet. I see it, but very very blurry

Like Grape Ape said who cares about training or dieting while you're on vacation. I admit I train on vacation but it's for enjoyment and not hard core.

I was recently in Hawaii and ended up training about 4x because I was first one up by about 3 hours and the resort had an excellent gym.  Plus, had to try a beach ruck......

Normally though, it's not a priority, and a good time to let the body heal.

Going to Vegas in less than 3 weeks. Look like shit so I'm down to one meal a day. Might go 0 calories a few days out. I plan on being so fucked up while there that food won't be necessary.

Wow - that's about twice what I can drop if I do the same (maybe 9-10lbs).  How long can you hold that loss for before your body tries to rebound...?

just get a really good spray tan (not kidding) and you will already look leaner

Bold - but a good base tan is good advice because remember hardly anyone there will be looking at you in the way that BB fans do - a solid tan goes a looong way in the real world....

Now THAT is the attitude to have - Bravo!  ;D

Drop water weight for a holiday...

Eat or drink something that isn't 'clean' and begin the water retention rebound.

Why don't people understand water manipulation is a short term thing.  Sure dropping carbs will drop a few lbs of glycogen and associated water, but what happens when you induldge in a few beers on night 1?

Ditto, my weight fluctuations are quite large...either direction though

It's not loads of water, it's diuretics (naturals work). And if you aren't lean to begin (you don't mention bf%) it's a waste of time.

Drink heavy the night before you leave.

...dehydration will have you looking shredded.

That's kind of what I meant - I can myself drop a certain amount of water if needed, but I don't like the way I look around 5-6 days after, so I couldn't sustain it for a weeks holiday, for example....

Yeah for a typical person who eats 1200cals a day and drinks a few coffees.

Just have fun.....if you`re not truly lean losing a bit of water won`t make all that much difference in your look anyway.
