Interesting to see them do a Continental Clean and Press on film -
http://ditillo2.blogspot.com/2009/05/continental-clean-jerk-jim-halliday.html .
The old man whispering, "Get it up there, get it up there boy" did make me chuckle though, given what we know of schmoing.

How often the words "testosterone propionate" appeared in literature between the years 1930-2000.
How would a bodybuilder back in those times know about this stuff? Think bodybuilding is a small sub culture sport now it was nothing in the 50's. Reeves was built as a teenager lifting weighs in the late 30's early 40's. He was build in the Army during World War II with a a 110lbs he kept with the equipment along with body weight stuff. Was he juicing during those times? I think those who are adamant about his use are those who are both fans of steroids and also know they look like they never did a push up in their life without the drugs. They can't imagine anyone could look amazing with good genetics and hard work because they lack both of those qualities.

I wonder what the percentage of people today still think that bodybuilding and powerlifting are the same thing, and that an on stage bodybuilder is at peak strength.
