absolutely ludicrous.....
UK gets one per year...
-
BETHERE, To the best of my knowledge that 'one per year' will be changing soon.
I believe that the 'one per year deal' was as per the 'guidance' of Rafael S. and the International IFBB, but now Bob Chick will be promoting a couple of events in England as sanctioned by the IFBB Pro League and the NPC under the direction of Jim Manion.
So you will be seeing a vast/'good?' number of IFBB Pro cards being awarded in GB next year .... and possibly worldwide if the IFBB Pro League/NPC gets its foot in the door within other other 'foreign' countries.
I believe that this was a major issue concerning the IFBB - IFBB split.
I am not up to date on the current IFBB Pro League/NPC plans to go worldwide, so if you hear anything different over there across the pond ... please let us who may be interested ... know what's up?
PS ... Have you heard anything in England about Bob's forthcoming event and do you personally think that it will be a success over there?

Kinda like Halloween for Thongolians. Instead of M&Ms, they get an IFBB Pro Schmoe Card.

It's A good move taking The Pro card Awarding status off of the ukbff - Totally Corrupt organization
Not yet heard much about Bob's Planned events.
Yes I think It will attract a good Number of Competitors
-
ILL, Thanks for the above. I assume that you live in England.
Is the UKBFF sanctioned by Rafael S. (IFBB International governing body) or some other organization?
And approximately how many other bodybuilding events are promoted throughout GB?
Is it big like it is here in the US?

UK gets one per year...
$850 for the actual annual fees i believe for the IFBB card
they make bank just the cards
i think an NPC annual card is $100 to $150

I'm not sure if it's sanctioned by Rafael - I think it was / is as a good friend has had all sorts of
Problems reinstating his Pro Card through the ukbff - Rafael had said to him a very well know
Gym with Billionaire backing were blocking him via £ to ukbff
He has his pro card now through Jim manion.
Looking to do the 212 Olympia
NABBA are Big over here
& The PCA organisation are doing ok
Plus a few others.
I would expect the ukbff to lose a lot of competitors as they are still saying you cannot
Compete in any other comps only there's or you be banned from ukbff ::)
Lots of shows throughout the year at a guess probably 50/60 or more.
-
TACO, I assume that that $850 yearly pro card fee is for IFBB International pros (Rafael S, group).
Do you know what the IFBB Pro Card yearly renewal fee is within the IFBB Pro League under J. Manion? I have heard it cost $300 a year to renew but I'm not sure about that.
And what is the exact fee each year for all NPC card renewals?
Thanks, TACO!
-
BETHERE, Shit, DUDE!!! Give it a try and get that Pro Card!
All the more reason for the/your haterz on this Board to dislike or hate or simply be jealous of your new standing within the world of lifting heavy things!
Keep us advised.
-
Hey, ILL, How does your friend who has received his IFFF Pro pro card from Jim Manion's IFBB org ....qualify to enter the 212 Olympia.
I have forgotten how a pro qualifies to enter that event.
Nor do I know how many 212's can enter it.
I are dumb on these new ways of getting things done in both of these IFBB orgs. but willing to ed-u-ma-cate myself to overcome my inherent stupidity.
Let us known how things are done across the pond within both IFBB camps if you become privy to the 'important' stuff.

and for $300 a year you get what exactly???
You win a show get to become a pro and pay $300 a year for the privilege.
One guy in the UK was scheduled to guest pose at a friend of mines show and was getting £500, ended up winning his pro card so couldn't do the guest spot or he would have got banned????
ridiculous...
-
BETHERE, I assume that your friend was invited to guest pose in an event that was not sanctioned by the organization in which he was a pro.
I can recall that once upon a time any amateur within any organization who accepted money or anything of value was considered to be a pro ... but a pro who was not accepted within any organization.
There could possibly be some forthcoming changes now that the IFBB is competing against the IFBB in an effort to make one more appealing than the other in order to increase that organization's membership.
But apparently those competitive massses could care less about the fees involved (membership, travel, entry tanning, and hotel among a number of others) .... which is evident by the hundreds, thousands, millions (?) of those individuals who beg, barrow, or steal and pay up willingly with a smile on their face .... and possibly more than once each year.
So it's pretty damn obvious that neither organization could care less if you decided not to pay what ever it will cost ya to be in that organization.
And that is the heart of the problem here!
... When a demand for a product goes up ...... so does the cost involved. And it will keep increasing until the interest waines.
So sit back and ... enjoy the show presented by the masses and care less about who wins that plastic trophy or the huge checks involved.
The interesting shit is occurring behind the curtains while our asses are seated out front where the whole event is less than evident.
I can think of no other "sporting event" in which the participants involved have increased in number as swiftly as what is going on right now within the world of lifting heavy things.
And that (to me at least) is more interesting than the judges' decision or the guys or gals who leave that stage with accolades or disgust or even hate from the adoring fans and GetBiggers out front.
If I'm wrong ... feel free to punch me on my noggin.

Try to make a long story short.
He won the EFBB overall title & a IFBB pro card a good few years ago.
He was Approached by another country to Compete for them - Which he did
as they gave him a passport a nationality he gave back his IFBB pro card
& competed as an amateur winning several Asian games & world amateur
championships along the way for His 'New country'
Though he was being paid very well by this country & some of the amateur
shows had sizeable prize money.
On leaving that country & returning to the UK he applied again for his IFBB
pro card through the ukbff & they wouldn't re-issue it to him.
politics & $ from a 3rd party to prevent him competing against their top man
who was now doing very well as a pro.. As He had beaten this Pro several times at the world
amateur championships.
so he contacted Jim & got sorted that way - Though there are still games going on to try&
stop him competing - from this 3rd party who are well known & very wealthy.

But first I gotta go out and kill a turkey.
