Judge Nap: White House Should Be 'Very Concerned' About Flynn's Lawyers Not Sharing Info
Judge Andrew Napolitano said he believes the White House should be "very concerned" about reports that lawyers for Gen. Michael Flynn, formerly President Trump's national security adviser, are no longer sharing information with Trump's attorneys.
Flynn's lawyers, according to reports in recent days, told the president's legal team that they can no longer discuss Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and potential collusion by the Trump campaign.
The reports have led to speculation that Flynn is cooperating with Mueller's investigative team.
Napolitano, a Fox News senior judicial analyst, said the only individual higher than Flynn on the totem pole in Mueller's investigation is the president himself.
"It's something the White House should be very concerned about because the general was a confidante of Donald Trump going back to the summer of 2015," said Napolitano, adding that the only thing Flynn could offer in exchange for reduced charges would be "evidence of criminal behavior on the part of the president."
The judge said Flynn could face "very serious" potential criminal charges, including lying to the FBI and receiving money from a foreign government while working for the U.S. government.
