Press Release -->
Former Champions Cedric McMillan, Dexter Jackson, Dennis Wolf Highlight 30th Anniversary Field at 2018 Arnold Classic
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Cedric McMillan, who won the 2017 Arnold Classic for the biggest victory of his professional career, is one of three former Arnold Classic champions who will do battle at the prestigious contest that celebrates its 30th Anniversary at the 2018 Arnold Sports Festival.
The 2018 Arnold Sports Festival will feature IFBB Pro League contests in a record nine divisions, including Arnold Classic Physique for the first time.
McMillan, five-time champion Dexter Jackson and 2014 champion Dennis Wolf lead a field of 14 professional bodybuilders who will take the stage in Columbus, Ohio for the 30th Annual Arnold Classic on March 3, 2018. Jackson won the Arnold Classic in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2013 and 2015 and holds the event’s record with five titles, one more than Flex Wheeler.
In the Arnold Classic 212, 2017 runner-up David Henry and 2015 champion Jose Raymond headline a field of the seven who will vie for the title. Henry and Raymond, third in Columbus a year ago, will be challenged by Guy Cisternino Jr., fourth here in 2017, and Hadi Choopan, a rising star who finished second to McMillan in the open division at the San Marino Pro in late November.
A new champion will be crowned in the Fitness International with the retirement of four-time champion Oksana Grishina. Most of the top competitors from 2017 return in March, including runner-up Regiane Da Silva, third-place finisher Whitney Jones and Bethany Wagner, who was fourth a year ago.
Candice Lewis-Carter returns to defend her title in the Figure International. Also expected to challenge are Cydney Gillon, the current Figure Olympia winner who finished second here in 2017, and Heather Dees, who was sixth in Columbus a year ago. Angelica Teixeira will defend her title in the Bikini International. Challengers include 2017 third-place finisher Jennifer Ronzitti and Janet Layug, who was fourth here a year ago.
Two-time champion Harold Kelley will try to make it a three-peat in Arnold Classic Pro Wheelchair.
Arnold Classic Physique, Arnold Men’s Physique and Women’s Physique International will feature competitions open to any IFBB Pro League athlete who finished in the top 10 in an IFBB Pro League contest in the past two years. Visit www.arnoldsportsfestival .com for the complete competitor lists.
The Arnold Classic 212, Arnold Classic Physique, Fitness International, Figure International and Women’s Physique International will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018; while the Arnold Classic, Arnold Men’s Physique, Arnold Classic Pro Wheelchair and Bikini International will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018.

Not a lot of time so peddle to the metal! I think he will grow into this show and seems to be carrying a lot of lean muscle. Training with a cervical fusion as a pro can be tough especially legs.
This is from the 15th and have to wish him well he is a great guy. Too bad he rarely got placements he deserved.

Here is the issue: I know the names of all the BODYBUILDING entrants and NONE of the Classic or Physique competitors? Is it just that I am old school and eventually these new names will be recognized by all? Or is it the case that, even though these guys are being smarter with their health and there are lots of them, they will continue to be unknown?

im worried wolf is gonna look like shit. the few pics he posted looked like they were using angles and cropping to hide the fact that he has really regressed.
-
"Bonac, youre nobody!" Not saluted
LOL that was laughable. A better insult for the Lui would have been to shout at William, "je bent lelijk en je moeder kleedt je gek aan!"

Camel crew helped him get the late invitation so coming down from over 300lbs. Agree but he seems to have fast metabolism.

Anabolic chicken is all that is needed. :D

It's not looking good for Wolf. Here he is trying to look relaxed, but obviously flexing. Also, trying to stand closer to the camera. My guess is he's not much bigger than the guy standing behind him. :'(

Impressed, somebody who knows the name of a Physique star.
-
Yeah... Wolf is going to look like a shell of his former self, sadly.
i believe that he cancel the Show if there is no Chance to get into the top 5. From the latest pics and Clips i am doubt that he can come into this Show like the wolf who won the Arnolds back some years ago. He looses to much of his Standing in the IFBB Pro Division if he cannot reach the AC final. Than it´s better to wait and come back better at a later Show (or retire ?).
The guy Standing after Dennis is a friend of him (Matthias Busse) who worked a Long time for Team-Andro, but quit this "Job" some months ago.
-
Looks okay, but like I said they are taking pics at angles that are hiding a lot of his regression.
-
MPH, I met LOGAN when he was released from active duty (US ARMY) while in discussion with Greg Plitt at one of the past Olympia expos.
It was pretty damn evident that he was going to soon make a name for himself within the NPC/IFBB and Greg offered him a lot of encouragement to do so.
I think he should be doing well at this forthcoming ARNOLD event.

Look forward to seeing him on stage.

Franklin for the win at the Arnold Physique.
Should he add more bodywt and enter Classic in the future?
Is this the new look of bodybuilding? Somewhat similar to the best of the best back in the 70s!
Gotta add that he is a US Army combat vet!
Good luck, Logan!

He's got a great frame / physique and I'm pretty sure he does well with some added thickness in the classic class

He does and seems to get very little coverage considering how well he did last year. If his condition is on point he will surprise some people.

Thanks Walt. Back in 96 the top prize was 100k. Today with it being 130k it hasn't even kept up with the rate of inflation. It would need to be 160k today to equal the 100k back in 96. :-X
-
I still can't believe he gave being a fireman/emt for the dysfunctional fitness industry.
Yeah. Dude's a disillusioned 'tard.
In the fruitness industry in which he has chosen to "work", someone with his qualifications should have no trouble finding a power-bottom job in either the schmoe service or ice machine industries.
-
WIGGS / WALT, Here is the prize money for the 2017 Arnold physique. I assume it's the same for this year unless someone on this board can povide an update.
This is a cut and paste .... so the winners are included ....
Ryan Terry, $5,000
Andre Ferguson, $2,000
Brandon Hendrickson, $1,500
George Brown, $1,000
Jeremy Potvin, $1,000
Raymont Edmonds, $500
It doesn't seem like much, but at least it's a start.
Now to find some Classic prize money info but the search engine has a difficult time searching the 'Arnold Classic classic' terminology.

Hidetada Yamagishi, $1000

WALT/BeBack, I think that most of us would possibly agree that the Physique competitor victors are 'underpaid' compared to the Bodybuilder dudes and even the CLASSIC victors.
Can anyone offer any valid opimions/reasons why this is so and any idea when these Physique/Classic monetary awards will possibly increase?
Or is it possible that there is just too damn many competitors within Physique/Classic that the need to enlarge the "carrot" just ain't necessary?
-

so he seen all Top-Athletes in the last days ?
Dexter is always a Top 3 Candidate. But guys like "still growing" Roelly Winklaar, William Bonac, or even Cedric can beat him on a good day....Cedric was awalys "off" at the Olympia but tje last 2 Arnolds he "delivered". When Rhoden is out, These are my top 4 Athletes for the upcoming Arnolds. But it would be great if Dexter will win, and than retire.

Someone someplace up above stated that he was not familiar with anyone entering the men’s classic nor the men’s physique.
That’s most likely true for the majority of GetBiggers, but I suspect that it is NOT due to the non-interest of physique and classic competitions …. but simply due to the fact that such events are relatively new and are filled with so many newly awarded pros nowadays.
And those pro numbers will continue to increase making it almost impossible to know who’s who and what’s what within these new divisions.
I find such events to only be of interest if I have met or know one or more of the competitors.
Otherwise it can be a yawn-fest.
I’ve known Danny Hester for a good number of years and I met and talked with Logan Franklin (also a vet) before he got involved in this game … so at present that is the extent of my interest in either physique and classic ...... other than its organizational aspect and worldwide growth.
Regardless … these events will continue to grow even though we are ignorant of the 'who’s who and what’s what' part of the game.

Mens' Classic Physique is disappointing. Some of the contestants already have a big gh gut, some show obvious synthol abuse, most of them have a very shitty genetics and don't know how to hit a pose. I was looking forward to see some arnoldesque old school physiques with good posing, all I saw was a bunch of wannabe junkies with shoulders bigger than their legs. What a pity :-\

The physiques look more thrown together than I expected. Just not the greatest genetics, and lower quality drugs abused at a higher level... we won't get a true "classic" look.

At the convention center and lighting sucks. Breon is shredded and killing everyone from the back. Arash is staying close.
-
Breon a clear exception, definitely tailor made for that division with his structure and smaller size.

Did you watch Bostin's video with the pro Nick Trigili? Seems a lot of pro's use oil and his looked over filled with no peak.
