???

Times are different and you have a different perspective of things now that these times happened. You have an emotional nostalgia. These things cannot be replicated because a certain level of knowledge in the community hadn't come to the surface completely yet whether it comes to peoples personal lives, or AAS. A lot more pros were active back then as well.

Stop trying to relive those days. They've over. New days are to come and embrace them. Maybe make some funny posts yourself instead of crying like a bitch.

I believe that was the heyday for all forums as DSL was just becoming widely available and you could actually surf the net without spending most of the time staring at the screen waiting for something to happen.

No I don't believe it can.  But this isn't specific to getbig.  The online world as a whole has changed so much.  I remember playing xbox live in 2003-2004 and it was a special time.  There were no filters and way less regulation of things.  There were big giant arguments and anything was fair game.  It was a blast while it lasted, even though at the time we didn't know that things would change.  Internet forums aren't any different.  Everything has become political and racial as well.  The world didn't used to be so hyper sensitive.  Getbig in 2004-2008 was probably sort of the wild west of the internet.  Now people are hip to trolling and having an online persona isn't special.  I guess the whole world has sort of changed.  Things were way different in the 90's.  I often comment with my buddies who I grew up with, us being in our mid 30's, that we got to grow up in the last normal generation.  Now everything is fucked.  We, as a human race, don't have a lot of time left in my opinion.

Can’t live in the past

The ones who are gone are gone

It’s basically how informed and in touch the main posters are - but unfortunately most of the conversations on this board take on a personal sense

What would SquadFather?

There were a lot of funny posts in that day though.  For example, Nasshole Oil Syntholbody.

I think some iterations of his name became particularly weird, but hilarious.  I think something like:

Nasshole Oil Synthoilbody.

LOL.  Just a giant mess, with every part of his name intended to make fun of him.  Even Nasshoil for example, attempting to mix both asshole with oil.  I think the first name that I put would have made the most sense - and maximized the insults.

Nasser was a very intelligent man - yes, putting the oil in his body was dumb, but that was more a function of his body dysmorphia than anything else.  But in an academic sense, he was a smart man.  Sad that by staying at over 300-lb well into his adult life, it ultimately cost him his life.

This may be a nickname that was never used:

SquadFagher.

Jimmy - VikingPower - was annoying.  As w8m8 put it, just a gum-based shitpile.  I remember posting a photo of myself from the 2007 Arnold Classic alongside his, and I put "Epic face genetics".  w8m8 couldn't stop laughing.  ;D

Just a very obvious - man, your face genetics suck, rofl.  Especially compared to mine.  Not a single person called me out for being arrogant either.  It was obvious that I was right.  ;D  Not that being better looking than Jimmy meant anything.  :-X

Phil Heath, King Kamali, Nasser El Sonbaty, Shawn Perrine, and other top bodybuilders and industry people read my posts and personally told me that they respected me, which meant a lot to me coming from such accomplished people.  In fact, both Phil and King, along with Shawn Ray, gave me their DVDs for free at the 2007 Arnold Classic.  I reviewed each of them, as well as every other DVD I acquired. :)  Good times.

Interesting observation.
Society has been decaying ever since and its destruction is just a necessary "evil". Anybody being alive in these times is a priviledged individual as on one hand you have the ability to access the (real) past via the internet and on the other hand all things ordered are unravelling.

Squadfather was the Tank Abbott of getbig.
I enjoyed most of his posts as his insults were childishly clever and most of the time hit home hard.  The cool thing was that due to the internet the "playing field" has been evened and so anonymous folks could interact with their heros on a "neutral" platform on eye level. This made these "heros" vulnerable at least in an abstract sense and enabled dismantling their fake status if necessary.

Btw,
tell Phil that his only 0.99 Matts wide and he'll drop the mask of respect as fast as volcanic nostril can widen.
