One of my clients in Ontario sent me a pic of her dash showing -30-something Celsius this morning, I thought that was like -60 F.. Turns out its only -20-something. No big deal

God damn I fuckinghate snow.im in the 6-10 range yet I always get more than they say so ill prob end up with the 10-16” they are saying for the outskirts of mass.Snow fucking sucks.

It's like that here in the UK. I like the cold weather when I don't have to drive in it, but right now it's a nightmare. Since October I've had to perform first aid (great excuse to flex the triceps) at three serious car accidents - one fatal - because people keep speeding on icy roads.

Yes NH is awesome in that respect,I do buy a lot of stuff in NH.But you get worse snow than us.Got some family in NH and I have lived there a couple times for short periods.

Real question. How do you live off of cash? I had a bunch at one time and got to the point I couldn't spend it. I just ended up depositing in the bank and paying taxes on it.

Not zure if yourenserious , but Its not hard. So long as you don't deposit above a certain about the bank doesnt report. Plus you can get a prepaid visa registered to a stolen identity and load those if you needed to. Cashiers checks and money orders etc... Plenty of ways. Gotta verify income? Either set up an account with Paychex or just print off pay stubs at home.

I love living here (NH) 3 seasons out of the 4. Beautiful place, always top 3 in safety (least crime) w/ Maine and Vermont, but ya, my hate really kicks in hard right about now. :)
I dont mind cold (sub-zero) just dealing w/ all this snow/ice/power-loss bullshit pisses me off. Gotta take the good w/ the bad I guess.
At least I get to work from home when I want (like today and tomorrow for sure). OK, bitchy vent over, need to take my AI for estrogen rebound.

John R. Gyakum, a professor of atmospheric science at McGill University in Montreal, is one of two authors who coined the nickname and studied the phenomenon behind the “bomb” in the 1980s. In an interview this week, Gyakum shared his thoughts with The Washington Post about how the name came to be.
It came from a paper we published in 1980. The title was “Synoptic-Dynamic Climatology of the ‘Bomb.’ ” I was a graduate student at the time [at MIT], and my adviser, who was the lead author, Frederick Sanders, actually coined the term. He had quite a bit of experience making forecasts for cyclones in the North Atlantic that were developing very rapidly. Oftentimes, we’d even say explosively. Given their explosive development, it was an easy path to take to just call these systems “bombs.”

It is really just Winter. The extreme cold just makes it a tad bit worse.
I had a truck and plow for last 10 years (yard truck I had to scrap finally) I actually had to snow blow and shovel today, took 2 hours with wifey helping me.
Used to take 5 mins.
New truck and plow now on my radar to buy again.
Sub zero cold is fine for me, not an issue, 2 hours of clearing snow, nah, not fan. Great workout though, I skipped the gym and was pumped as f&&k...
Makes me realize I need more cardio. (Chest was about to explode, had to sit for 10 mins after to be sure my heart rate went down).
I'm not far behind Wes in age (51).
