Since when is "1 in 4" considered "one third"? Fuck you're an idiot.
...and if you read it they lump anti-anxiety, anti-depressants, & anti- psychotics all together.
Anti-anxiety meds like valium (mentioned) isn't a psych-med any more than vodka or ghb are. Benzos work on GABA, same as booze and ghb. GHB sold as Xyrem is used for sleep.
Anti-psychotics include a bunch of drugs. Scripts for things like Seroquel and Trazodone have jumped the past 10+yrs because doctors are afraid to prescribe valium or Xanax for sleep. Not because the people are psychotic. (APs work typically by haulting production of neurotransmitters like dopamine or norepinephrine etc..).
Anti-depressants? Drs prescribe this shit for insomnia. For which they typically don't do shit for sleep and doctors typically have no clue what to prescribe and end up just guessing and trying one after another "just to see what happens". Not to mention many have really shity withdrawal symptoms despite having few if any noticeable positive effects.

yes it is an australian article but the 25 percent stat they quote refers to American women, my bad...
I couldn't find any articles on the 33 percent British women stats but I heard it from a usually reliable source so it is probably correct.
