Title: Question for guys in real estate
Post by: flinstones1 on January 31, 2018, 02:18:43 AM
Was it worth it?
Do you enjoy your job?
How much money do you make?

Being a personal trainer has its perks...I train hot women all day and they pay me for it.

Some days I just can’t deal with being in a gym all the time though. I want to get into something else. I’m good with sales and people.

I know some that do it as a side job.  They can't live off the income, but probably could if they devoted themselves to it full time.

I got in when inventory was/still is super low where I live so it is hard to get clients and compete with the bigger names around here. Also, a lot of the agents that I've dealt with are dishonest individuals so that screws with you, etc.

Will crash again in the near future.  Save your money and wait until that happens.

A friend in San Diego bought during the crash of the early 90's and again in 2009.   Multi unit apartments.  He now has massive positive cash flow and he doesn't need to work anymore, just collects rents.

If you’re a people person, willing to speak to anyone, anywhere, anytime and are a hustler Real Estate sales may be a good option for you. In general, Sales people, in the right Industry of course, are some of the wealthiest people in the world.

A lady friend of mine is a realtor in San Diego.  She only deals in the higher end market ($2 mil+) properties in coastal towns.  She makes about 100K a year during the dry periods, but has made over $1 mil year during the boom periods.  She sold Mit Romney his house in La Jolla as wells as few other well know celebs and sports figures.  You definitely have to be a people person and hustle constantly.

For every one yenta like her there are 5000 schleps who can't pay their bills. Residential Real Estate is a broad's job. If you want to make money in real estate then investing in rental properties and flipping distressed properties is the way to go.

Why didn't you just start a thread called "I finally managed to be in the same room as a decent girl , although I didn't have enough confidence to make eye contact..."

i am not a realtor but in sales within the industry - mortgages/sales/consultation

-yes - worth it since it plays to my strengths (sales/people skills/hard work) good upside
-yes i enjoy my job, i have nice office, work my own hours (45-50 a week) but i can come and go as i wish, i have my own book of business - 100% commission
-been doing it for 12 years - my average from $70k annually to $200k (big range since commission) my phoenix/scottsdale market and dabble in LA county

if you are good bar tender/personal trainer you can be good in real estate/mortgage/title.  its all hard work and service -

many of the guys in my office are in their 60s and still hustle/grind. many mix business and pleasure together, plus you can do it till your old as hell and when you get good you have your own book of business and can come and go.

i started out like many - being a bitch/cubicle then moved out as i got better.

live below your means, hustle, dont take shit from anyone, ask for the business, repeat x 100

there are tons of hot chics in real estate and plus there are always social functions too.  i am much happier than my engineer buddies who hate their jobs since they cannot create their own business. come up with a business plan, work your plan go at it.

also its great for bbing cuz you can come and go, plus the days dont start till 9am usually so time to train before the days begin,

if you are lazy and do not do well with rejection stay away -

Just buy some REIT's or real estate stock ETF's if you want to invest in this sector.

What is the Retail Contraction going to do to REIT's?...
