One of my OR techs told me this story before of how he and his younger brother was obsessed with the Masters of the Universe toys and worked all summer cutting grass, washing cars, running errands, etc.. for money to buy the figures.  They had to wait until Xmas time to ask their mom for the Castle Greyskull playset.

The emo kid across the street won the entire line of figures and playsets from a Captain Crunch cereal contest.  Where you had to find the prize in the bottom of the bag and see if you were a winner.  He didn't even like the He Man toys and never sent the ticket in to collect.  He showed it to them after the contest was over and it was no good.

He said he and his brother wanted to beat his ass on the spot.

Back in my time-period ... you had to make your own or do without unless you were fast enough to beat your older brothers to the cereal box and search below the corn-flakes for the 'prize' that was inside ...some of which are as shown in these here photos .....

These you had to send away for, but there were tons of other free "toys"
underneath those corn-flakes way back then.

I tink I was the first kid to invent the skateboard.

the toys used to be in with the actual flakes and cereal, they stopped that under health and safety, it was to stop morons swallowing them.

I’m not exactly old at 34 but can’t remember a massive range of toys being available as kids, I remember being really young on Christmas Day nighttime being out with 2 of my mates and the 3 of us had the exact same torch that had 3 different colours playing with it in the dark, every  youngin had the exact same few toys as each other

Took you a whopping 6mins to reply to my comment this time.

What happened? I know you couldn't have been busy cooking since anorexics don't eat.

Funny the first thing you mentioned is that I must have been a "spoiled child"... Says a lot about you. Seems you are an insecure little cross-eyed twerp even way back when you are kid. Jealous of all your classmates who had all the toys you never had being there weird autistic kid and having no friends who would let you play with their toys seems to have scarred you for life. Looks like you view me as everything you wished you were.

Explains everything.

Forgot about those! I had this exact same track... I even acquired some older cars and grips from my cousins from the 70s or 80s.. Some 70s leMans & F1 bodies.... That track came with red n blue corvettes :/ Learned how to fuck with the motors & magnets. Some of the older cars even had foam tires so the cars would slide sideways around turns lol.

Or rip your hair out by the roots if you were stupid enough to stick it on your head or reallllyyy stupid enough to come up behind your mom and stick it in her hair.  Which is what happened with my math teacher at school.   Her son did that and she ended up with a crater type dent in the back where no amount of comb over of the existing perm could hide.

Quote
When children are spoiled, they often don't have to learn responsible behaviors. According to "Baton Rouge Parents Magazine," children who were spoiled are unable to understand the concept of boundaries as adults and can develop problems such as spending, gambling, overeating and drinking. These children are sometimes unmotivated and can be described as lazy or angry. Lacking in emotional maturity and having poor problem-solving skills, these adults might flounder and become unhappy with their lives.

LOL, but I am not surprised.

I brought it in for show and tell in kindergarten, and I remember a bunch of kids got it at lunch break an the teacher took it away because she could just SEE what was going to happen.

I loved that thing.  It actually had the power to go over rough terrain and get air on small jumps.

The ads showed the kids on their knees besides it cranking it gleefully....  I remember standing over it, cranking for all it was worth, teeth grinding together, shoulder pumping like a piston.... just to try to win the contest we had of who could make it go farther....

Yep! Had that castle greyskull... thing was indestructible. Can't believe I didn't break the hinges. Shit isn't made like that anymore. Only had about 6 of the little figure dudes though. Mostly the "good guys" lol... It often became a "base" for my GI Joes haha

That aircraft carrier sucked though. Remember pitting that thing in the bathtub. I still think d Arctic tiger ship or whatever it was called was the best though. LOL

Never had any star wars shit though,& to this day still have yet to see a single Star Wars movie
