At no point should we consider having armed security to protect our children at school. Armed guards are for protecting important things like money, corporations, celebrities, and politicians.

As much as I hate the thought of it from a moral stand point, I do think a combo of armed teachers, plus more security is the closest thing to a right answer. Make arming the teachers a discreet, voluntary effort. Let them go through the same portion of firearms training regular police do every few years, etc.....

Also enough with this "School to Prison Pipeline" idea that they're trying to push the last few years. While zero tolerance is a bad thing, when you've got a kid that was so scary that they wouldn't allow him on campus with a backpack and without a security check, perhaps they should've talked to the cops.

There should be multiple armed officers at every exit/entrance.

One armed officer won't mean much in a school with 3000-4000 kids and multiple exits/entrances. Yet, one politician walks around with multiple bodyguards. Hence, your statement that there was an armed officer is moot.

Lol at additional security. They likely are not armed.
