This is a fun video. Superstar Billy Graham vs. massive Ken Patera in a 1974 arm wrestling match. Billy was training partners with Arnold at this time and he was cut and huge. The guy used to measure 6'3"-6'4". Because of 'roids, heavy weights and multiple surgeries he's down to 5'10" today (his own admission). Anyway, this was him in his prime (he looked amazing until 1978) and it's a fun watch.

Good find.
Graham looked really good here, great gimmick.

Go4It > Joe Hogan

Graham was Hogans inspiration in wrestling. Stole his whole schtick.
-
An artful master of expressive gasconade (ahead of his time, and would be crushing it in this age of self-promotional social media):
I lift barbell plates. I eat T-bone steaks. I'm sweeter than a German chocolate cake. How much more of me can you take?
I'm the reflection of perfection, the number one selection.
I'm the man of the hour, the man with the power, the man who's too sweet to be sour. I am the women's pet, and the men's regret. What you see is what you get, and what you don't see is better yet.
This is what the world waits for. The world out there asks, 'What's the Superstar going to wear next?' Not, 'Who's he going to whip next?' but what in the world is the Superstar going to wear. And I've got millions of letters saying, 'Superstar, would you please lay some yellow on me, daddy?'
LOL

hoke hogan's physique was not impressive when I look back now. He was about 15% bf and watery as hell.
-
I used to see him in the gym using light weights (arm work)...I would walk over, use the same weight and wonder why his arms were 3 inches bigger than mine.

Jesse Ventura was an even bigger offender.
The two became friends while in Minnesota, and Jesse admits to mimicking Graham to the "T."
Superstar was surprisingly "okay" with it.

I believe Hogan's deposition during the 1992/'93 steroid trial revealed that Deca was his go-to during that period.
Following the trial, he came off for a time and dropped considerable weight. He was much leaner, but considerably smaller.

6'3" 6'4" is the perfect height
Tall but not too tall

What the fuck kind of shave job is that on hogans chest?

I'd probably say 6'2'' is the sweet spot but yeah, speaking from experience its generally great. :D

It was supposed to be a "heart."
He did that for a brief time in his early days.

That posters gotta cost the equivalent of $50 in today's dollar. LoL wtf is paying for that shit?
-
Strong fellas for sure, but the match was fixed. So obvious. Not even funny.
-
See who, hogan or graham?
Graham...The wrestlers used to train at the Ala Moana YMCA in Honolulu.
-
Hogan, steiner, ventura, all after the superstar...other steiner all same hairline with long back..

There's a story behind that poster, too.
I don't remember all the details, but I believe Graham personally funded the production of them, thinking they'd sell like wildfire.
They didn't, and he ended up taking quite the financial beating as a result.

He's sadly 5'10" today (same height as Mike Tyson in a recent video). His entire lower and upper torso was chopped away (ankles fused, several discs fused, knees and hips replaced, neck fused, etc). Same thing happened to Hogan. He was a legit 6'6" guy (barefoot) and due to 9 back surgeries, neck fusion, hip replacements, knee replacements, he's at best 6'2" today. Roddy Piper suffered a similar fate. He was a legit 6'1.5" man in his prime, but they fused several of his discs, replaced his hips and he was down to 5'8" before he died. Arnold has lost a good 3.5" as well. The Big Show is down to 6'9" today from his former 7'1" frame (also due to major back, hip, knee surgeries). Wrestling is a BITCH.

Graham also had a liver transplant and said in his book that the liver looked like a swollen football when it came out.
-
Oh, wow...
I never saw that before.
Thanks for posting!
I wonder whatever happened to all of the leftover posters.

Hep C, silent killer for some people.
-
No, his bad liver was from steroids....Common...
-
He died today. 99 years-old. PIP.
