I've wondered that too. I really can't imagine that he makes much from it. The few videos I've seen he doesn't appear to be rich.

There is this infatuation with guys like Genova and Lenny and the Misfits, you know the people who would never get attention before. I think it's part entertainment, and partly because many see themselves in these people---the dorks, geeks, oddballs, losers, and aesthetically challenged.
