Some lady got hit and killed outside of a crosswalk in Arizona. I thought I remember a thread here about the likelihood of this happening as these things were being rolled out. Sucks for the pedestrian.
-
Was it the car's fault?

Many are watching in interest, you can bet. But what a strange way to go for someone. Just reading about it is like a sudden forward movement in time, almost an unreal feeling.
And Uber will have documentation up the ass, too. That'll set it apart at least as much as the "self-driving" weirdness will do.

Not said atm, but these cars have been seen running red lights and stuff like that. So any idea that they're "perfect" or at least "perfectly safe" or whatever, isn't true.
-
Only "good" thing about Uber is that those self-drivers will finally force the old lane-splitting thing for motorcycles to end. Other than that, it's caused one huge path of destruction across the world. It should be a study in bought politicians, with a who's who attached to name the globalists involved in this cruel experiment.

I'm sure the excuse will be that she was not in the crosswalk. I also read there was a human observer in the car. Was this guy asleep?

Probably playing on his stupid phone like most dicks nowadays.
It's not like he had to be paying attention.
-
Nobody cares. How many people were killed by human drivers that same day? Exactly.
-
Yesterday a fly fell on the soup of a gentleman. He did not complaint.
-
We don't care unless it was a black car killing a white person.

valid point
-
Was the car saved?

The local AZ news says she darted in front of the car unexpectedly. The investigation is ongoing. It may well be that this accident is completely the fault of the pedestrian- doesnt matter if it was a computer driven car or not.
-

Crossing the street in the dark and not using a crosswalk. Don't think a human driver could have avoided that either.
What are the odds that these self driving cars will become mandatory at some point? What better way to control a person than to restrict and track their ability to move freely?
All you gotta do if one of your subjects misbehaves is turn it off. See how far they get on foot.

On the other hand, you might exchange "the ability to move freely" for other freedoms you don't have today, like: the freedom to arrive more quickly, the freedom to read your phone in the car, the freedom to not get hit as often, etc.

No deal...........and those aren't freedoms.
-
Theres no way that accident could have been avoided, human or computer car.
-
At she was safely walking her bike across the street instead of riding on it.
-
Was it the car's fault?
