Title: Sometimes Lighter is Better
Post by: El Diablo Blanco on March 27, 2018, 07:30:04 AM
Fucking Racists!!!!!!  That's the reaction from a Heineken ad about its light beer.  What the fuck is wrong with this world?  Rappers can say Neeeega a million times in a song and be okay with it but then cry about this bullshit?

Heineken pulled a 'Sometimes Lighter is Better' commercial for its Heineken Light beer after some criticized it as being racist.

In the 30-second advertisement, a bartender slides a bottle of Heineken Light towards a woman. The beer passes several men and women of color before reaching her and then the statement "Sometimes Lighter is Better" appears.

Among those criticizing the commercial: Chance the Rapper. The Grammy winner voiced his dismay about the commercial on Twitter calling it "terribly racist." He also questioned whether brands are purposely creating racists advertising to get attention.

Dude, I don't know on this one.  I'm as anti-over sensitivity as anyone, but this commercial seems pretty dumb.

Actually don't get it  Is it a light skinned dude finding a light skinned woman and sliding her the beer past dark skinned people?

These guys probably have a point here.

GTFOH, you POS Colombian!  If they weren't trying to send a subliminal message, they wouldn't have had the beer slide past 3, not 1 or 2 but 3 Afrocentric people.

People should stop consuming alcohol anyways.  The beards, the micro brews, the hipster clothing..it's all a bad trend.  There's a misconception that society pushes onto young men that going out and getting drunk is cool.  Alcohol is just one of many tools of addiction used to keep the commoners in check.

Huge double standard with alcohol. It's "cool" to be a binge drinker but admit to using something harder even once and you are a pariah.

People on here are always talking about how big media is trying to condition people and pointing out agendas in commercials all the time.

Here's one thread from not that long ago I found just by googling "agenda" "getbig" and commercial".  There have been dozens of threads like this on here.

And maybe it's not that far off? Why is it so far-fetched to think a company wouldn't say "How can we appeal to white supremacists/ but be slick about it?" They are a vocal demographic, they've shown that they will support a brand if they think it's lowkey speaking to them (New Balance, Papa John's, Taylor Swift), they can always fallback on plausible deniability if the water gets too hot...

I would think an idea like this in a corporate marketing agency would be an impossible secret to keep, but after the Michigan State gymnastic cover up,  the Dallas maverick office atmosphere or even going back to the Penn State cover up,  it's not that unlikely of a thought.

Another one of these threads was just posted today about Jake Gyllenhaal's black family and how he's a cuck whose part of the agenda.

Real men drink IPA in the summer and stout in the winter.
