this just hit hit me today . ive always been one to say im not materialistic person , i dont need shit to be happy
but i know im wrong for thinking im above materialism, becuase if you claim to be spiritual , then there has to be some kind of substance to that materialism....spiritual ity has to take a form , thus spirituality is no different from materialism
i think about all the work ive done and wether to keep on doing it or go on a more 'spiritual path... but i know now its all materialism wether it be god made or manmade ...there is no escaping work and becoming enlightend
we get enlightend wether working or not.... and being enlightend is just being aware of more material things, how can it be something else other that materialism wether seen or unseen

sounds like you need Buddhism.
-
Even the Dali Lama likes to have air conditioning.
-
sounds like you need Buddhism.
no i need more pussy like tge rest of us.
but back to my point. if spirituality has any tangible essence , then spirituality is automatically a material thing.

Materialism and spirit are just concepts, go back to the pre-linguistic real and find out for yourself. Matter is ill defined and at this point nearly moot. All is consciousness, it's no-thing at all. Everything is non-dual.

I think an idealist would say that the material is a manifestation of the spiritual. The word was made flesh, and the flesh was good, at least up until 35 or so.
Like if you built a house, you conceived of it's design. Going even further back, you had a notion to start thinking about building a house. Where do these notions spring from? Seems like the essential difference between a being and a thing.
I don't see it as implying any sort of Oneness or God but seems like we posses an intellectual animation that even a brain scan, which can image the physicality of thoughts once existing, can't explain the origin of.
I agree that there is a horniness on the part of the non-physical toward the physical. I suspect this is why a lot of origin myths involve congress between sky and earth, the tangible and the ethereal.

lol wasnt a rebuttal. It's non-dual, nothing is separate. It depends on what level you view things on. Matter is illusory at the quantum level, our brains are made to narrow down our perceptions to keep us from going insane.
It's not oneness as that implies another, it's based on paraconsistent logic, it's both simultaneously. Non-dualism comes the closest to "reality" as any word can. Semiotics is helpful here, people mistake the signifiers as the things-in-themselves. Try getting in touch with the noumenal.

the premise spiritualism has a tangible essence may be false, rendering the conclusion false

Falcon is AC/DC ;D ;D
-
I think it means to limit your spiritual self to "possessions" like cars, money, stuff (materialism).

your premise is to deny my premise without offering facts to support it wich makes you an asshole :) :o

Interesting take on my post. Obviously I'm dumbfounded by your allegation that I'm an asshole by offering an observation on your post but I think it underscores my suspicion that you have no clue what you are talking about :) ;)

Oh shit! Marty Champions of GetBig doesn't agree with me. The post stands as it is. You made an assumption, not supported by YOUR allegation, and you want ME to disprove it. Not very solid science there...

my factual reasoning was in paragraph 2 of original post!

the premise of spirituality is an unseen material force...
wich cant be possible because just because something is unseen doesnt mean its not material
therefore materialism and spirituality coexist as one thing

I will just leave this here,,, just because something is unseen also doesn't mean it is material....

WELL THEN HOW can it not be, since your so adamantley opposed BRUHH?

It would be immaterial like consciousness. Clearly existent, possibly emergent but not tangible except in an experiential sense. This is what buddhism points to.
It's being, nothing more.
Materialism is just a concept, drop them all and be it will come intuitively then. Spinoza nailed this clearly I feel.
