I did them today for the first time in a while. The regular close grip bench press didn’t feel quite right today, so I switched over to reverse grip presses. Felt it slightly more in the pecs but triceps definitely took most of the pressure.

Never really felt right doing rgb but when I did I def felt tris.Ngb is my favorite tri move but can’t do them cause shoulder is fucked.

Just started doing them for chest. Grip/palm seems to give out before anything else so far. Supposedly hits tri a lot more then traditional bench.

I prefer using a smith with a slightly wider than shoulder width grip. Free weight version doesn't work for me, anterior delts come too much into play. It's the only time I use the smith machine. Fry's the shit out of the long heads at 12-15.

Nope. Overhead extensions are the best for overall triceps mass since the shift the workload towards the long head, which makes up most of the upper-arm/tricep

Reverse grip benches will obviously stimulate the triceps.
I do them because of chronic rotator cuff issues. I also get a pump in the biceps.
I can only grab the bar using a very wide grip, otherwise can't hold it.

What is the best exercise for hitting the lower or bottom part of the triceps? That tie into the elbow? If there is even an exercise for that. It's a trouble spot for me because it's like the muscle doesn't extend all the way to the elbow on my left arm.

I prefer regular presses and tricep extentions. Reverse grip feels kinda weird. But barbarian brothers loved them though!

Anyone else try decline tricep extensions? You get a great pump with no elbow discomfort.

Mimmicks the cable pushdown, except at the bottom of the movement brings (*can* bring) the long-head/lat-insertion into play so you get more of the overall tricep workload.

Royalty didn't you used to train with Jeremy Freeman?
Have you ever asked him what he did for triceps, I know they were a hard responder for him but I'd be curious to know his answer.

That's right, but there would be no point in training then for 99% of people out there. Exercise and the coupled workload do make a difference in muscle size - be it tiny tit territory or at Lord Humungus levels.
Also many people do not claim that an exercise is magic but enables them to have a pain free workout and thus get some stimulus.

For a guy who's triceps have always been shit and finally brought them up the only thing that ever worked was overhead ez bar extensions leaning backwards on the preacher curl bench. On the negative let the bar take your arms all the way back and stretch the shit out of the triceps. There is a lot of evidence that putting the muscle in a pre stretched position before firing causes more growth. Ex deficit deadlifts, dumbbell bench presses, etc.

Reverse Grip Benches are a good way to decapitate yourself.
Very difficult for most to maintain a strong grip when heavier weights are used.
Not worth it IMO......so many better/safer options.

I tried reverse grip once but tbh it's all upper chest, you are lifting with the strength of your upper chest. You wanna hit triceps ? Do one arm dumbell extensions, kickbacks, dips and pushdowns
