Title: No NBA playoffs thread?
Post by: mazrim on May 15, 2018, 09:55:20 AM
Looking forward to Lebron getting another beat down in the finals (if he even gets past the Celtics). Haven't watched much of the Celtics this year until the playoffs. A lot of good versatile players at various positions.

Warriors still a big step ahead of their competition when all are healthy. Harden looking like the only guy who can play at their level on his team. Both Houston and Warriors would have no trouble in the finals.

I don't follow the NBA at all, but it does pop-up on local sports news. I hear the buzz that the Celtics got much better, but losing Kyrie is a hit, and also that big white boy at the beginning of the year. I used to like it in the 80's (Larry Bird era).

Sucks now...

I don't watch much at all in the regular season but when they actually start trying in the playoffs I do.

I’m very impressed with the Celtics considering their two best players are out. They will be scary good next year.

The NBA has devolved into a glorified 3 point shooting contest.  You aren't allowed to play defense and all the best players want to play of the same team.

Never mind that they are all a bunch of ungrateful "woke" SJW potato brains that hate white people.   Fuck all that.

This is true. Have definitely soured on sports as I've gotten older due to this. They just sound so dumb even based on speech alone without taking the actual thought into account.

Celtics up 2-0 and still Lebron getting phantom calls for no reason. Refereeing is atrocious in general. Pretty bad when you can see the call on a tv screen yet full size in person they have such troubles.

Haven't watched the NBA since Jordan retired, was really offended by the King James bullshit.

It's anticlimactic at this point.  Golden State is the obvious choice.  It's time for Lebron to create another Superteam and take them out. Lebron, Kawaii ( :( ) and Paul George in L.A. with Ball as the Point Guard. Don't know who they could get as a big man because those 3 will be ridiculously expensive.  Lebron could also go to the 76ers.  That would be an insane team. Lebron, Ben Simmons, Imbid, possibly Kawaii.  Ben Simmons, playing point and Lebron playing off the ball at power forward. It's going to be an interesting off season.  I don't blame Lebron creating a superteam.  It seems outside of the Spurs that's what you have to do to win a ring.

I've grown to like Lebron and for me outside of the rings Lebron vs. Jordan is Ronnie vs Dorian, you can go either way when you look at the details. But neither of them is better than Wilt Chamberlain.

Yep, haven't cared since around 2009 and I was obsessed during the 2000s. Pistons, Spurs... 60 point games. Way more intense to watch.

Brad Stevens is doing a phenomenal job & just getting this far would have been a great accomplishment with the injuries the Celtics have had. But he is halfway to ousting LeBron and the Cave en route to The Finals.

Glad I wasn't the only one noticing the phantom calls. Dude isn't even touched and gets whistles.

It was a bit humorous/weird to see him getting blown out yet still getting those calls. Makes those "and1's" a lot easier when you're not touched. Seems as if they try to get them back in the game sometimes. Love got a really, really bad one too.
