That was at a time when the Democrats had the support of white southern farmers and were socially conservative. It's embarrassing when Republicans come out with these platitudes about how the "Democrats are the real racists/fascists". It's almost like they are claiming to be the real liberals/leftists.

This film actually looks quite good though. Not really a Spike Lee fan but he's produced some solid work in the past.

I don't think you get history? The featured tropes of Afros and Pro-Blackness, was the opposite. Just like BLM is now, is about white acceptance.
