Not much. I only stuck around for the intro, about an hour of him speaking about the old days training at Golds and Worlds, Arnold, Joe Golds, squatting, his approach to his intensity during his workouts then a Q&A

I can’t imagine how disgusted he must be with the use of site injections in the pro ranks these days. I’m sure that he avoided that topic, but it’s got to bother the guys from the 70’s and 80’s

its evolution - sometimes for the better or worse - i think it looks like shit but that is where the open class has gone - it is what it is and it will NEVER change back -

dont waste calories on shit that doesnt matter  ???

In a round about way, I brought it up but In the beginning he was talking about how BB’ers now, with guys walking around at 5’7 close to 300lbs, barely being able to walk up a flight of stairs are basically science experiments.

My question was (after I told him I was at Golds during those days he was there) if he thought the same as me that the judging criteria since the days of Dorian have perpetrated what we see now. I brought up the health of today’s younger pro generation and how their lives are potentially cut down. He played it off at first saying these guys today eat an incredible amounts of food that would also contribute to the health problem and then finished with, the GH and insulin doesn’t help.

Mmm, I didn’t need a Seminar to pass that on.

Tom’s a great guy but he really has nothing new to offer in the way of training or diet, etc. His worth in a speaking situation is the cool tales from his time at the top.

I saw a video of a seminar he did in late 1993 where he said Dorian onstage that year was everything he was trying to do.

How's he looking these days? Still in shape? The only images I've seen of him in recent years are in layers of oversized clothes.

Platz was a great business man and would make a fortune back in the day doing seminars and posing exhibitions. I wonder how much he commands these days at 160 and 60+ years old.

Tom Platz....He’s trying to bring back old school bodybuilding.

The good old dayz when BBs only took steroids, test, ritalin and amphetamines.

Simpler times.

Wasn't he broke a few years back and selling off his trophies, etc.?

Tom’s tried acting and several other ventures. At one point was selling cars (still?).

That guy devloped the best wheels of all time just being totally fucking insane! 10 min squat sets 100+ reps. Hes cool!

He was an intense trainer, no doubt, but was also unnecessarily self-abusive.

Still, Tom’s a legend and worked very hard.

What’s a bummer is there is seemingly NO footage of him performing his infamous squat sessions/sets. The WBF squat-off doesn’t count (years past his retirement); nor does the 325 set shot for the PowerliftingUSA video magazine. Again, well past his prime.

When it's 'free' for the public, than it's the gym owner who's paying. Tom is a great person, but he ain't no Jesus..
