Why does he always use that machine for biceps? Did he hurt his lower back?

Arnold’s a legend, and deservedly so. But he never enjoyed training his lower body and now he’s so battered all he can do is wuss workouts on fancy-pants biceps and upper-back/chest machines.
Watching a video like the one featured is very sad.
The Oak’s pumping up his last remaining muscle group (biceps) while modernity rumbles all around him, duckface Instagramers walking to and fro, no mind for the royalty in their presence.
And worst of all, that royalty itself has lost the plot.

Age is a bitch but I'm not hating on him at 70. We will all lose a step, become irrelevant and die - but not have lived like Arnold has.

I used to hate that machine but it really does give you a good pump and keeps your elbows from doing the work.

Psychologists would say it's due to insecurities in ones self. It's a coping mechanism to deal with the persons own shortcomings and failures.

Unless you have a goal to build or keep size you will atrophy. Many of the older guys have injuries or health issues. Still, Arnold is but a shadow of his former self.
Machines are probably better than free weights.

Not really the case, Arnold sold an image of a larger than life character, and bodybuilders for the most part are narcissistic self centered individuals. If it was a video of Robert de Niro or Al Pacino working out I don't think anyone would care if they look old or out of shape. But for someone who became successful for his physical appearance, expect some reaction if he keeps exposing himself on social media at an older age.

I find free weights to be far easier on my joints and the only injuries I've ever had have been with machines.

Nearly 71, Still training, still got arms better than most, had multiple injuries, 2 heart surgeries and people put him down, can only laugh.

I'm guessing that the comeback being referred to is from the most recent surgery and not a return to the dais.

The bicep curl machine is great. I work my biceps on one almost every arm day and I've never injured my back. Setting the seat at the correct height is essential. There's a tendency for folks to place the seat too high.

There was a video a while back of him training quads and he said never leave out legs. When he's showing the followers out there his training, arms are the obvious choice over hiking up his shorts on the leg extension.

I think it is obvious that Arnold knows how to get huge muscles. That he doesn't have the size now suggests his health might not allow such training. Also, where is the motivation to get huge arms again? You need both the motivation and hard, persistent training to get huge.
