Levrone looked ridiculous there.
-
He sure does.
-
As good as Kevin looked, Yates killing it all day.
-
Dillet looked insane. Has anyone been so big with such a small waist?!?
-
Levrone looks ridiculous. Him and Dorian are light years ahead of the rest. His Triceps look full of something but they are still ripped?
-
bloody hell the conditioning in that era! :o :o
-
Kevin looked great there
As did Paul D.
Yates was from another planet.

Supposedly Dorian didn’t train much during the previous 6 weeks or so... he had the badly torn bicep injury in July of 94

Are you talking about Levrone's triceps? Are you kidding? Triceps shot full of SEO's don't have cross-striations like this.

They shouldn't but look at him walk out. There's something in them for sure. Esciline?

He was known for that

He also got sick, some kind of stomach bug, during or right after the Olympia, which saw him drop from 260-262 down to 250 (and maybe a bit less). There was a point on the tour that Levrone had filled out enough that he matched the Incredible Shrinking Dorian for size, but Dozzer of course crushed him with conditioning.
Too bad Kevin couldn't bring this look again circa 2002. Ronnie would've whipped his ass the next year, but I think the best Levrone from the nineties could've taken Ron at his Olympia-winning worst.

Levrone starting having problems bringing in his quads.
Overall, when he went for size, he lacked detail... especially in his back.
When he went for detail, he lost too much size.

Of course I don't know for sure, but whenever I read 'stomach bug' within a few days of a contest I can't believe it - the chances of contracting food poisoning right at the end of a 16 week prep where you've eaten the same things a thousand times just doesn't float for me. Maybe more seasoned competitors than myself could confirm this, but the urge to just do a little more of x,y,z the last couple of days - or try some weird carbing up sh1t like baby food or something is pretty strong... So I tend to read reports of 'stomach bugs' as people wobbling from the course... but what do I know after all........

Me too - the first pro show I attended - got a picture of me with my arm round Samir somewhere... (or was that '95 maybe)

Don't think so and this video shows just how freaky he was.

Cell-tech was really powerfull these days.

It was probably the HMB. It was just like Deca, only better.

Interesting. I remember 249 from some FLEX issue, but it doesn't matter :). By the end of the tour it prob was 245. Ooo, four pounds! :D
(Note: I ain't mocking you. I am just amused that some folks take the reported stats and such so seriously. I remember a big row at mfw over some dude's waist measurement -- probably Brian Buchanan's, but that's beside the point ;) .)

Nah, man, that's a perfectly valid point, and fair reason to be skeptical. I reckon it is possible, though, since: Dorian didn't seem like a major bullshitter; further, going from Atlanta to Europe does increase the likelihood of some suspect food. Of course, there's also the possibility that his immune system was simply more susceptible to illness: being that lean and dry is grounds enough for getting sick. I was never CLOSE to Dorian, but the few times I competed, I noticed that being really lean did my system no favors.

Feels like Deca! :D
Good old Bill Phillips. I guess I would've been a major sell-out, just like him, for the money that jackass made. I wonder what happened to his brother, Shawn? His gimmick was marketing some bench press program iirc.
