Post by: Brian Poulos on June 12, 2018, 10:56:31 AM
Looking to compete in both powerlifting and bodybuilding. My thinking is that periodization and picking my contests in both sports wisely. Thoughts?

The great Mark Cullimore did this, and weight lifting, and was very successful.

It's good to plan ahead.

Now all you have to do is get your 185lb bench press up...and those 12 inch arms too.

It's probably a good time to start doing squats.

If you can really ramp up your anabolic dosages it shouldn't take more than 6 months to win "Junior Mr. Nowhere".

Throw up a couple pics or videos of your past competitions Brian.  Then we'll have a better idea of what direction you should go for a good balanced result in both sports.  Looking forward to helping you achieve your goals.

The IFBB should include powerlifting.  Then these bloofy soy boy Phil Heath types would actually have to train with free weights.  Everytime I used to see Jay Cutler, I would always think of how he has so much mass, but is basically useless.  The way he would mope around like dopey the dwarf.

I loathe Heath, but he can bench.

He did very well in a bench contest.

He came in second to Jeremy Freeman.

Did they ever put up a Vince Gironda memorial in California?

I know that guy from Detroit was trying. I think he worked for Next Nutrition.
