He received silver medals in the 1955 and 1958 world championships. He won gold medals at the 1955 and 1959 Pan American games. He won a gold medal at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne,[3] with a world-record three-lift (snatch, clean and jerk, overhead press) total of 342.5 kilograms (755.1 lb).[4] He won gold again at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome.[5]

During his career Vinci set 12 world records in the bantamweight class, between 1955 and 1960. He held records in snatch, in clean and jerk and in press, as well as in total."

Yes. It's why I exclusively hang out with people shorter than me.

On a serious note though, the guy is sub-1.60m that's dwarf territory. No matter how "big" you get being that tall, it simply looks goofy.

Vinci had sick lats.  Similar to Bob Peoples' back.

He was only 4'11".  Like that guy Suleimanov from Bulgaria who recently passed away who was a terrific mighty-mite oly lifter.  He was 4'10".

Vinci didn't let his height stop him from doing great things.

Being tall & muscularly Big looks ok
Being short & muscularly Big looks not ok
