To answer the question, it may make the complainants feel insecure about their own looks. Because they themselves are not "objectified", or don't make the cut of standards---bottom line, the attention is not on them.

I’m so sick of people that constantly need attention. That desperate need for attention almost seems like a sickness of the mind. Every conversation has to be about them. Their opinion must be heard and accepted.
