You know what I don't get:
When you're at work, and someone sends an email wishing X person a happy birthday, they attached EVERYONE in the company to the email. Then, everyone else starts to click on "reply all" to wish person X a Happy Birthday, so you literally wind up with tons of emails. Why don't they just reply to person X individually, as to not clog up everyone's email? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
I know getbiggers have indepth knowledge on every subject, so I thought I'd pose the question here.

Everyone has to reply via 'Reply All' so they will get credit for their birthday wishes and not be seen as a non-team-player.

I work with a team of 25 people and maybe 2-4 do what you describe. It doesn't bother me, but I guess it gets annoying if you work with a large number of people.

I don't respond to birthday mails, nor to the endless "I'm leaving after xxx years". I do not care about colleagues in general, only a few who I'll keep in touch with. When I do leave my current job Ill be sending a mail to my manager and 1-4 people.

99.9% of the time I will not respond to everyone in the email.
If I choose to wish someone a happy birthday, I am going to do it on my own time, without having to announce it to the whole company.

Can’t stand the fat bag of shit mate she’s loud and obnoxious and thinks herself summat special despite being a fat disgusting slob, Stopped going to with our lass to visit her family after her gran died as liked her gran, now I don’t even go at Christmas and the rare occasion they visit here I make sure I go out, like you said mate it’s tricky so I just gave up trying at all

When you're young, every birthday is a milestone and achievement. You can recite it with a blink of an eye. Turning 21 is monumental. Then the next decade is pretty cool. Then when you pass 40 you have to think about how old you are, cause you don't care anymore - hate the attention on birthdays.
