I doubt Phelps actually ate that much and anyway he's probably on 30iu of GH a day. He needs braces everytime he prepares for an Olympics you don't see bodybuilders needing that.

54242g of Sodium? Bullshit! That would be around 120lbs
For my American friends who struggle with the metric system  ;)

I was curious too. I read that they can earn up to 500K a year. That's probably bullshit. I mean goodrum eats dozens of hot dogs every weekend for free.

He's talked about it before, and most years he makes $200 - 250,000 a year. He travels around to various contests and bar/restaurant openings in America, and that's the bulk of it. One of the wilder things he's been known to do is swallow chicken wings with the bones still in them to save time.

I was at the hot dog eating contest. I entered and ate two and left. They said what's going on? I said I was full and drove away. It was a nice free lunch.

See - I always figured that surely they must purge afterwards... but a quick Google suggests that - at least for an undefined period - that would void the victory.  The question then becomes: what qualifies as 'immediately' after the contest?  I've got visions of the competitors holding it down until they get outside the venue then... bleurgh!

"Vomiting
If, at any point during or immediately after the contest, a competitor regurgitates any food, he or she will be disqualified. Vomiting, also known as a "reversal", or, as ESPN and the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest call it, a "reversal of fortune", includes obvious signs of vomiting as well as any small amounts of food that may fall from the mouth deemed by judges to have come from the stomach. Small amounts of food already in the mouth prior to swallowing are excluded from this rule."

Passing it the other way just doesn't bear thinking about...  :-X
