I mean, the folks who do this activity are gutsy, but in my opinion, also kinda nuts. Millions of tonnes of rock ain’t gonna cooperate if you find yourself in a pinch. And help won’t likely be much of any.
I love that horror flick The Descent (own it). I find it “horrific” not because of the monsters, but because of the cave-exploring shenanigans.
Being physically stuck, absolutely, is terrifying to me. And like I say, that rock ain’t giving a kunt hair. Ever.

Thats hilarious. I had to get up from the couch and leave the room during that movie. I felt physically sick.

What's worse?
1) Being trapped and dying a slow claustrophobic death in a cave the size of a drain pipe.
2) Going down with the Titanic in freezing arctic waters while the band plays on. Kate Winslet is not there.
3) Being torpedoed and sunk by a Japanese submarine on the USS Indianapolis in WW2 and then watching your fellow crewman being eaten by sharks one-by-one until they finally eat you.

Never in a million years. I had an MRI a few years ago (or as I called it, "the tunnel of terror"). As soon as my shoulders were pinched in and I couldn't move them, I panicked and they had to drug me up with Klonopin or something before I would go back in.

Lol. Found it loud but that's about it however the nurse told me several people press the button as soon as she leaves the room.
Was also jammed in their like a sardin. Real tight. Don't know how some morbidly obese bastards get in there.

If I’m absolutely stuck/trapped/pinned, I’m helpless to even try.

a big guy would never consider caving, as it would be impossible due to his muscle mass
but since you considered, have an opinion etc it shows youre skinny otherwise the thought wouldnt even cross your mind.

Dude was 6 foot 200+ pounds. Med student. Went in head first into a waist deep opening, went further, found out that he couldn't turn around, found a fissue, that seemed to open up, went head down into to see if he could turn around. Sucked in his diaphragm, diaphragm expands, he gets stuck more.

A quick death, instead of hours spent upside down, in the dark, wet environment, in a confined space where you can't move your arms, probably hard to breath, and your fluids and blood pooling in your brain. With people talking and singing to you to keep your spirits up. And then others realize that they will have to break your legs to get you out.
You slowly die. And then people mourn. Your body is not taken from that place, but the cave is sealed off with your body still in it, stuck in the same place.

It's even scarier that this guy, who clearly demonstrated an inability to use common sense, was able to get into medical school.

I wonder if they thought that in order to get him out, that his legs would break, so no go? But, he's dead. I would at least think that they could find a way to get his deceased body out for a decent burial, and then seal it off.
And so now, this has made me look up cave diving, and various forms of penetrative diving. As well as urban exploration aka draining aka urban spelunking, canyoning and mine exploration.

Cervical spine is hard because your neck hurts the whole time.
