This happened in Australia, where her steering wheel would be on the right. So that if it did come through and hit her on the right, she would have been killed, or if her steering wheel was on the left, she would have been killed. The screaming was a delayed emotional reaction to realizing that she was almost killed, and survived, while a piece of metal that could have killed her is sitting in her front passenger footwell.
