This is unfortunate no matter how you view it. There will be a toxicology report from the deceased's autopsy that will reveal if he had any drugs and/or alcohol in his system at the time of death. The short film report I watched of his girlfriend of many years is believably touching. She has a right to grieve. But again, the autopsy will reveal what, if anything, was in this man's system.
I haven't seen any footage of the confrontation but reports have said he was "disrupting traffic and damaging" vehicles. It is also reported that he was walking toward the officer with hands raised but not responding to orders to lay down on the ground. Many officers today have bodycams and it is well known that nearly every person from the wealthy to the worthless have cell phone cameras so there can be no doubt that footage of this confrontation exists. That and the tox report will out what exactly happened.

according to report cop was in car and santos was pounding on the car so hard it dislodged the car cam.. before he walked away.

Sooo yes I was there. Worst timing or best timing idk yet. Everyone is making it seem like this Joseph Santos man is an innocent man at the hands of a killer cop. Nooooo ladies and gentleman that is not the case. Joseph Santos is a man that jumped the Dorney park Fence onto the street (Hamilton Blvd) and assaulted 3 different cars. He didn’t exit the park like a rational member of society but more of that of a criminal that was up to no good. I understand that those who are grieving want to demonize this officer whom was simply doing his job. I’m very sorry for your loss. I witnessed Joseph Santos act like a complete maniac and scare the lives of those behind the wheel. I was one of the many people who contacted the authorities to report this man. I had not come forward because it is not my intent for people to use me to demonize a man who was simply doing his job. I have already met and spoken to the authorities and given my statement along with proof, they have the full length videos of this “saint man” that wouldn’t hurt a fly. To those that are out there claiming that police brutality needs to be stopped, I ask you to stop being ignorant. Let’s get the facts straight before you open your mouth to comment about something you don’t know. I don’t wish death upon anyone but I sure as hell don’t wish for police officer to be demonized for doing his job. Yes I have videos of the shooting too. Honestly I don’t wish that in anyone’s head.

that's a bad road for him to be fooling around like that= back in 2015 a dorney park worker was killed just trying to get across that very street almost at the exact same spot where santos was shot. he was a danger to himself and all the motorist using that road. the cop made a split second decision, there was no time for a second guess. cop had a baton, a taser and pepper spray would that have subdued santos ????

A bullet is more effective than all those tools and most cops will reach for their service weapon before they try to use non-lethal means if they feel their life is in danger, right or wrong. Your first instinct when confronted by a madman is to neutralize him rather than take his knee out or temporarily shock him. Tasers fail about as often as they're deployed, either due to improper prong insertion into the target or they just don't paralyze everyone. Pepper spray can fail too and affect the cop as much as the perpetrator. Nightsticks don't work and can be used against the cop himself; extendable telescopic batons work best, but they're no match for someone on PCP or meth.

yesterday two events were held a memorial service for santos, and a rally supporting the police officer now charged with manslaughter..... a number of police officers weighed in most agreed the shooting was justified,,, but they thought five shots were excessive...had the officer not shot and if he was overpowered and his gun taken who knows what this guy would have done with the gun..

Poor officer.
It’s a thankless job. Some cops are crud, but a majority are decent folks.
Those who’ve never dealt in the business of the criminal-and-retard segment cannot begin to imagine what it’s like. Reality for law enforcement is VERY different than what average people believe it to be.
Can’t do much of anything anymore without being raked over the coals. At minimum.

Cop should have fired a warning shot into his left pinky finger.
That would certainly have made him stop to reconsider what he was doing.
