I am wondering about this. When people reach that age and realize their time is limited could it be motivation to get up earlier and sleep in less because they will have ample opportunity to do that when they are dead? I think someone like Arnold probably does not want to sleep as much now that he is already 71. Of course getting older also means your sleep will be broken but I think approaching death could add another level of motivation to stay up.

I'm just the opposite. As I get older I become less motivated and want to cruise more and sleep more.
Life wears on you. You get tired. Tired of everything. And everything hurts.

when im asleep i dont ever wanna wake up in the morning. but when im awake i dont ever wanna sleep

old poeple go on cruises (see go4it)

When I'm awake, I am awake. I do what I want/can with the time I have. ;D When I sleep, it's like dying without the possible ramifications. ;D
Some older people are more active than others but I will grant you that the majority of us need more rest than we did when we were younger. You either adapt or become like Basile, i.e., a disgruntled person who prefers to live in the past rather than learn from it and accept that the future is yet to be written. Or in his case, typed. ;)

I go to bed late and get up fairly early.
Of course my insomnia doesn`t help much.
-
I'm not even Wes-age and i get much more tired these days than 10 years ago.

Suffice to say I'm in my 60s my friend. I never thought I'd make it this far and that in spite of being a pretty dull guy. ;D

Most old people go to sleep early and get up early. No clue why. They like to eat dinner at 4PM.

I've noticed that too. I wish I could be an early riser. I usually don't get to sleep until around 1:00 AM. If I have the day off and turn off the alarm, like I did today, I sleep like a teenager. I went to bed at 1:30 AM last night and didn't get up until 12:30 PM. It's around 4:00 right now and I'm about ready for a nap.

This particular quote of Orson's is true. So many stop typing the story of their life long before they learn to write . Of course, John taught me that one but then Orson Welles' films were a favorite of his as well as mine and my mom's. Thanks again for the kind words. :D

Hell when I turn 70 I’m going to sleep all the time too, make up for all these late work days. ;D
-
I go to bed at 8 PM, up at 3 AM, eat dinner at 4 PM, chase kids off my lawn during my waking hours at home.

Why not give the age number? You should be proud of it.
Dull = less ware and tear = becomming old

I am old. ;D But yes, I may not live longer but since it's such a dull life it will feel as though I have. ;D ;D Thanks!

Yeah they do, majority of out clientele are senior citizens and retirees. They get up very early, I have to start at 6 am, me and my crew have to set up and open up all the outdoor bars and pool area. The sun isn't even up yet and there are old people everywhere, one thing I will say are Asians are machines, I see them up bright and early and they are power walking, stretching, and doing thaichi, even though they are old as fuck, they have tons of energy and are super lean. Compared to the obese Americans, hobbling to the buffet with their walkers, it's really interesting to see the contrast in behaviors from all these people coming from all these different countries and different age ranges. Also most of the passengers I see have some sort of replacement (hip, knee, shoulder, ect.) going on and off the ship through security can be a lengthy process with all these old people.

They are afraid they won't wake up, that's why they resist falling asleep.
