For real? If so, way too bad. Can’t say I’m all that surprised. The past several years he’s looked super crappy. Like, way worse than he should at his age.

Smokey and the Bandit is one of my all-time favourites.

People forgot about him a bit, but he had some great movies back in the 70's 80's . Sure, you've got Smokey and the Bandit, Deliverance, Cannonball Run, and The Longest Yard. But Stick, Sharky's Machine, Semi-Tough, and Boogie Nights all need mention too. Even his lesser stuff like Gator, and White Lightning can be fun time wasters.

Wish he wasn't such a Diva in the 80's - early 2000's, he had chances at some great roles. And I hope enough of his part in Tarantino's new film is filmed so it doesn't get left on the cutting room floor.

Will be watching Deliverance, Smokey and the Bandit, The Cannonball Run and Boogie Nights over the next few days. 8)

He was great in an episode of The X-Files where he plays God.

Hilarious. ;D

The one he starred in was awesome.  Adam Sandler's remake was gayer than refusing a lap dance.

Oddly enough, I've never seen that film.  Reynolds was, as far as I can recall, the first actor whose films were so fun that we simply referred to them as a "Burt Reynolds movie".   "Let's go see the new Reynolds flick!" was said a lot back in those days decades ago.

Hooper is a great get away from it all movie and one of his best!  I'm partial to the dark comedy, "The End".  Dom Deluise is superb in it!

Rest in peace to the owner of one of the finest 70s Porn Moustaches ever...Burt Reynolds. :'( :'(

"All I ask is that you make me a better swimmer!"

I just watched that film last week.  It's right here with me now and I'm going to watch it again.  Superb comédie noire.

And it's also the final film appearance by the beautiful Myrna Loy as Burt's mother.

"Help me make it... I'll give you 50 percent of everything I make!  50 percent God!  I want to point out that nobody gives 50 percent!  I'm talkin' gross God"

Excellent taste Scott.  In a bizarre co-incidence about 10 days ago I downloaded the Blu-Ray of Hooper as it's also one of my faves - so it's popcorn time tomorrow

Following your suggestion, I tried this and yes, it is unnerving.

I'm 56 and if I am lucky will live until I am 85. That's about 30 years and 20 of those might be with a good quality of life. The last 10, questionable. My father lived a decent quality of life until 86 and passed at 88. It is what it is. I wouldn't trade my life now, with being retired, no bills, the opportunity to travel the world, with where I was at 20 years ago. I wouldn't want to go through that again. Ask me when I am 80 I will probably have a different answer

It is quite unnerving when we realize that no matter the length of time we are given that it (time) is in reality nothing more than a lit fuse.  Don't waste what you are given but rather spend it making that which cannot be taken from you even in death.   Memories of a lifetime with the one you love and who truly loved you.  You know whereof I speak...She who took your name when she gave you her heart.  I wish you well, sir.
