Calling someone or group “neo-nazi” or “KKK” are the go to phrases whenever a liberal disagrees with a point of view. I was in Germany last week and my business colleague there said that anyone who disagrees with “Big Angie’s” stance on immigration is immediately labeled a Nazi as well. So the words mean nothing now,except to other leftists who attack anyone who disagrees with them.
A lot of what you read on this forum is a proper response to the politically correct insanity pervading popular culture. It’s the trend to insult white people these days without repercussion. It’s ok to blame white people for all the ills of society, even those same white people are responsible for 99% of the advances in society in general.
It’s high time whites started giving crap back to those who dish it out.

I had my thread about Basile deleted by the big man himself just days ago, so the moderation is alive and well. But it's used selectively, because overmoderation is why most other forums are graveyards. Go to Bodybuilding.com or any other muscle site and you're lucky to see 4 threads a week. Is that really what you want? Because that's the ghey, man.

You are correct. a lot of the posters are racist..Some openly admit it. Moderators ignore it even though it's against the rules. It is Getbig. You have to just ignore it and move on. No big deal

I'd be the first to agree with you that EVERYONE should feel free to voice their political opinions .
The problem is too many people think thata includes personal insults or shouting down those you disagree with.
The personal insults are a result of your including a lot of personal information about yourself. You were under no compulsion to do this.
And the only people who can shout you down are the moderators and Ron.
If you are unhappy here, you can always go to a place that better reflects your views, like Huffington post, Media Matters or salon.com.

On a serious note, I've met Ron at a couple shows and actually like the man.
I've been on ( and off) get big since it started almost 20 yrs ago.
My concern is that "perceived racism" from a large number of racially controversial posts/threads could cause problems.
I know many here feel they are just speaking their minds.
BUT, I that's from the safety of an anonymous post on a forum.
Freedom of speech goes both ways and I'm concerned about the impact these posts would have on any sponsors of get big or Ron's reputation.
Ron's made a living from being involved in business directly related to the NPC/IFBB contest industry.
Ron earned his good name within the industry and I'd hate to see that ruined.
In simple terms, the posts may not be Ron's quotes, but GetBig is his site.

In the real world, we are faced with the best and worst of what society has to offer us. Racism is real, although most often times it is covert in presentation. Cruel people exist in this world and we need to learn to embrace their and our differences alike, because unfortunately we can't do much to phase them out.
If I decided to get a hard-on every time someone makes an antisemitic comment on here, I would suffer from priapism and would need to stab my penoris for sheer relief. Granted, if a poster only posts racist or hate-filled material every single day and does so blatantly by creating multiple hate-filled threads, then yes, I will certainly jump in and delete said comments/threads, as will Princess, Chaos, Grant and the Ronfather.
The rules are clear and we try to abide by them, but I look at posters here much like I do comedians. The funniest comedians are typically also the ones that deliver the raunchiest and raciest material. Dave Chappelle would joke about African Americans and call them "niggers" all the time. He would also make fun of racist white individuals and call them CRACKERS, as well as every other derogatory term possible. Richard Pryor would do similar, as did Eddie Murphy and presently other comics like Ari Shaffir (a former orthodox Jew) does the same all the time.
If we cut out every last racist or derogatory comment, this place would become very boring. Now, if someone sends any of the moderators a private message suggesting that they are being attacked, we act on it.

Look, most other moderators will tell you that both Ron and I are probably the nicest of the bunch as we're super forgiving and don't sweat the small stuff. I've given a lot of former members chances to straighten out and remove bannings when appropriate.
There are limits though. Attacking innocent family and friends that don't post here, going after children, stalking the personal lives of members in a way that can affect their livelihood and ability to make a living, all of these are examples of things we will not tolerate.
What members don't realize sometimes is that many of the moderators have also been victims of this sort of shit. Ron is also included in that list of victims. The difference is that while Ron has been stalked in real life and I've received hate mail to my synagogue, some moderators won't play that shit.
Princess L will ban people if she is gone after. Chaos will show up to your door and possibly murder someone. Grant will fuck your girlfriend and/or wife or both at the same time. Whereas Ron and I just let shit go most of the time.
I'm not saying my approach is right or that other moderators aren't correct in their ways. Everyone is different from here.

I worked hard to put myself thru school, earn graduate degrees and advance in my field.
My wife did the same and worked her way up from college student bank teller to VP exec of a major bank.
It took lots of school and decades on the job with moderate investment to get ahead.
Now we enjoy some financial security, a nice home and some vacation rental properties.
I started my early 20's as an ex marine ,cocky douchebag without much of value.
BUT, with education and tedious work , I made it.
My parents didn't pay a dime for my college and never pais for any cars, etc.
I used GOV education financial aid and loan programs to help me make it thru school.
