Post by: dan18 on September 14, 2018, 09:27:00 AM: 500,000 without power now over 100 people need to be rescued from homes because of flooding why should people be put at risk because you chose to stay there were plenty of high ground shelters in place ....

True - but if your entire life's savings and memories are in your home, as it is for many, the desire to stay till the end is strong. I know a number of people in the Myrtle Beach area who have stayed behind because that's all they have, irrational or not.
