I haven't had a soda since sep 3, so when I went to the deli for my midday snack, I was hoping there'd be some exciting new soda flavor. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was something even better: a new cheetos flamin' hot flavor! I did a little online research and saw that these have actually been available since last year, but I've never seen them here in NYC before, even at costco.
Original version flamin' cheetos are one of the greatest savory snacks of all time, so I had high expectations for these things. I was not disappointed. There aren't any savory foods that can't be improved with ranch dressing and these new flamin' cheetos continue to prove that. The ranch flavor is sort of mild, but it's strong enough to add a distinct new flavor dimension.
The can of mountain dew I purchased with the bag of Flamin' Hot Chipotle Ranch Cheetos complimented them perfectly. I would actually say I prefer the new ranch version to the original version, though i realize that may be a somewhat controversial opinion and it's really dependent on the snacker's own preferences. I love the light ranch flavor and the heat factor is brought down slightly making them easier to shovel into your piehole.
FINAL ANALYISIS: 4 out of 4 stars. Highly Recommended. 8)

So, better than those weird flavored Doritos you had a while back? I too like hot stuff and will have to check these out. If you can find them, Mama Zumas flaming hot chips are pretty good too.

I would be sick as a doggity eating all those preservatives.

Ah, you must be talking about the Lay's limited edition chips review. Yeah, these are better, no contest. The funny thing is the limited edition Lay's for this year just came out a few weeks ago, but they're only releasing certain flavors in certain parts of the country, so I had to skip my review for this year. :'( I know a lot of people were looking forward to it, so now that you know, you guys can stop direct messaging me and harassing the moderators to find out when it's coming.

Gayer than endorsing anything "flaming hot".
-
Great review AD. After reading your vivid description I can almost taste the mixture of the sweet nectar and metallic ting from the can of mountain dew.
Would you consider doing these reviews as a series on YouTube? Having the accompanying sound and facial reactions as you taste test these treats would be extremely beneficial.

;D LOL
I love hot stuff, but I like the normal puffy Cheeto's, the hard ones arent as good. (IMO).
Those hot Dorito's (3 or 4 kinds) were decent a few years back, they came and went.
Blairs are my favorite, but they seem to come and go, and then the prices on Amazon go retarded/whacky.

I'm not that crazy about the crunchy ones in regular flavor, either. I've noticed that most places don't seem to carry them in the smaller sizes. It's usually the regular flavored puffs and the crunchy flamin' hot.

Thx. I'm actually working with investors on this right now. As fans of this review series know, we've had a lot of issues with other reviewers stealing my content. Once we can work out the copyright issues and get a good production set-up, we'll be moving ahead with the youtube channel and accompanying podcast. Should be soon, within the next 6 to 8 months.

Highly suggest Trader Joe's Habenero Hot Sauce. Good amount of heat, but also delicious.

Speaking of hot sauces that just taste good, the company that makes sriracha sauce also makes the best garlic chili sauce that I've ever had. Can have it on anything. Sriracha is fine- I think its popularity is due more to marketing- but their garlic chili sauce is really a standout product IMO.

Yeah, it's pretty phenomenal.

Do you eat these when you are stalking young white women ?

I've found the other variants of Flamin' Hot Cheetos (Flamin' Hot Limon, XXTra Hot, Cheddar Jalapeno) to be inferior to the original Flamin' Hot Cheese Curls but I'll give these a try on the basis of your review 8)
-
Never had the limon ones, and to be honest, I haven't had any limon flavored variations that were better than their predecessors, so I don't doubt you.
I like the cheddar jalapeno ones, but I like the ranch ones better. The cheddar jalapeno ones don't have the red spice powder. They are basically regular cheetos with a little heat. The ranch version is basically the flaming hot version with some ranch flavor added.

I’m quite surprised at Al’s tacit endorsement of the white man’s genocidal strategy of producing unhealthy foods and marketing them to the African-American community.

??? ??? The whole point of this series is to help everyone - regardless of race- decrease their unnecessary junk food intake. Instead of chancing whether or not a product is good, buying it, regretting it and then buying something else because it was unsatisfying (or maybe more than one something elses), readers will already know what's good when they get to their local store. The way I see it, this series is already responsible for cutting snack food consumption by at least half among our readers.

Just ate a bag of these yesterday. They were good but nowhere near flaming hot. Much like 911 Hooters wings are weak.

You fucker I never did find the strawberry kit Kats in my city >:(

Haha... when I did that one , I think they were already on the brink of being phased out.
Interestingly enough, I haven't seen them at the asian market near me since I did that review. I tried to track some down online sometime during the summer and there was a guy selling them for $50 a pack on amazon.I just looked and it looks like the same guy is selling them for $80 a pack. Ridiculous price aside, I don't think he has a connect, I think he just has a pack of year old candy he's trying to unload.
Amazon actually has the japanese import for a reasonable price.
