The Babadook was also pretty good. Australian film.
A Quiet Place but more of a thriller.

those were alright, the quiet place had too many scenes that were too silly like having a baby in that world

I liked the ending of Babadook. Lots of metaphors.
Slumber Party Massacres were all good, if you like cheesy horror, which I enjoy.
-
The Invitation is also worth a nights watch.
-
The grudge was prob the scariest horror movie ever seen.something about little pale white Asian kids with dark hair is creepy as fuck.
The ring is good.
Jeepers creepers is on of my favorites.

I was genuinely creeped the frick out the first time I watched SleepawayCamp.
Knew nothing about it and was alone in the dark.

Creep and Creep 2 were decent, good actor, though he needs to put his crank away in Creep 2.
He played a real freak on Billy Bob's Amazon show "Goliath".
I love all horror, not big on modern Vampire shit though, True Blood seemed to ruin the genre a bit. As Walking Dead did for Zombies. (For me).
Art the Clown movies I liked. (Terrifier / All Hallows Eve series). Loved the Wolf Creek movies and TV show.
Always looking for more... Good thread.

DEADZ, He was also SANTA CLAUSE in THE CHRISTMAS STORY.
I read that he used his own name for the character he played in CHILDREN SHOULDN't .......
He was also in the movie Easy Money with Rodney Dangerfield. Jeff owned a film studio in Miami called Great Southern Studios. Very nice guy. Died in his 50’s, heart attack.

The Beast Within............great special effects and makeup.

I saw part one, not part two yet. Fell asleep last night.
It's a pretty straight forward movie.
Don't expect any surprise twists or "crazy" endings.
But, its eerie in its own way.

I was so disappointed, me and the g/f were going to leave hallf way through, but persevered until the end.
King of hell!?!? WTF Made no sence what so ever...the best but was the kid being decapitated, everything else ::) ::) ::)
I struggle with a lot of films as they rarely hold my attention and are more often than not uber predictable.
Texas Chainsaw etc are what a horror should be, hyper gory and creepy as shit.....

Creep was scary, more of an eerie type of weirdo thing. The scary part, is that there are people out there like him.

everybody has their own taste
i like texas chaninsaw massacre but i don't think it's creepy in a way that causes me to lose sleep, i like to think i can at least somewhat defend myself against those people unlike a ghost
i still think the scariest movie i saw was pet sematary
i saw the new halloween, i think it sucked the whole premise of laurie preparing for michael for 40 years was just stupid, everybody seemed to hate H20 but it made sense to fake her death and move away unlike this shit cash in "H40"

I watched the new Halloween. Not a single scare in that movie. I like the fact it was a direct sequel to the first, but it was largely disappointing. Some good moments in it but I laughed when it pushed the modern Hollywood feminist agenda.
I saw John Carpenter and his band in concert a few hours later, second time I've seen him live, great show if you ever get the chance.

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. That is all.
I think there's a really nice version of this on Netflix now. I remember how happy I was to find a VHS copy at a video store sale as a kid, gosh 25 years ago at least.
Another good serial killer film, if you can find the real uncut version (some versions are cut by 5 - 10 minutes) is this one here -
(https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQXV9lww9R8vNV3lFLaBaTHNBoHNPj51D6PQemvhs1wjB9ZJAg7).
My mom brought it home years ago (1996ish), thinking it would be a "Silence of The Lambs" type film. It turned out to be one on the nastiest, yet most suspenseful serial killer films I've seen. The tricks to find the version with the "shitting scene", it's the real one, and universally cut out of most copies.

the thing 1982 version.

Just watched 2003 Texas chainsaw, now watched Texas chainsaw 3D,then gonna watch new leather face. Not really scary but good movies.

A friend and I rented it a few times. Not bad. The lead actor had an impressive resume in the genre:

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. That is all.
I remember seeing that as a teen in VHS - was not really prepared for what a mind f that would be.
Knowing based on a true story made it even more disturbing.
-
Get Out was a good one. It was thrilling without the gore.
-
Saw Halloween yesterday, didn't mind it, nothing special. (Not good, not bad). Silly story, having the secret basement, prepper, etc.
But on a cold, rainy, shitty day here in NE, it was something to do. Then went for wings and beer after-ward, so... Good day...
-
Hill house on Netflix is the best horror i ages. Its a TV show, not a movie. I SAW it alone, in the middle of the night 😬😅
-
The original THE FLY. Last scene shows a smll fly wuth a man's head stuch in a spider web 'sqeeking. "Help me! Help me!" as a spider crawls in his direction.VERY CREEPY!
And a long forgotten movie about a bunch of overnight guests who had to lock their bedroom doors at 9:00 PM and hear a 'squish-squash' sound passing by in the hallway.
They soon discover that it is a huge frog with a distorted man's head (the mansion's owner) heading out to the pond for a nightly dip who goes beserk when he is discovered and kills them with his tongue like a real frog catches a fly!
Or something like that!
Very creepy!
-
Haunte Tension was good.
Quarantine was decent too. (The one with the girl from the Dexter series.)

I had to pause it at one point to catch my breath. Just about the most disturbing film I've seen.

Some good entries here.
Last night I watched The Exorcist III. Been a long time. It’s quite decent, especially after the horrendous part 2. The scene with the nurse leaving the room ... and the quickly trailing white-draped attacker ... is always badass.

Thanks, FALCO! That's one movie I hope to never see again.
The 2nd sickest motion picture I have ever seen has to be Texas Chainsaw II with that scene in a tunnel beneath an old carnival midway where the good guy or the bad guy (I forgot) removes someone's face to use it as a mask.
That's been too far back to recall the details but I'm surprised hat it hasn't been mentioned here yet! (Unless I missed it.)

Hereditary was very..........very...... ....very........sloooooo ooowwwwwwwww. The movie builds and builds with anticipation that something interesting will happen and then the last scene is a huge nothing burger. It kind of reminded me of Rosemary's Baby (1968) with a huge build up and then a just as big letdown. I didn't like any of the characters in the movie at all and didn't care what happened to any of them. I waited for the movie to become available for weeks and was just hugely disappointed.

Some prefer the quick jump-scare, others the slow burn.

True, some love the slasher-stuff, and then there's the cannibal zombie-genre.
When i was younger i loved the blood and guts horror-movies (Jason, Hellraiser etc) but these days i'm more of an Omen-guy.
