Post by: Palumboism on October 29, 2018, 11:44:25 PM
The list of companies started in a "garage" is pretty impressive.  This is the engine of the American economy.

Walt Disney 1923

Hewlett Packard 1939

Apple 1976

Microsoft 1975

Amazon 1994

Google 1998

Cisco Systems 1984

Dell 1984

eBay 1994

Youtube 2005

Linkedin 2003

Spielberg recently steered several million dollars to the Democrat party, as did Bill Maher. So much for the argument that Jews have no undue influence in politics. It's about time they own up to their shenanigans and admit they're as greasy and manipulative and partisan as the rest of us unchosen. To be fair, Sheldon Adelson donates a small fortune to Republican races and the Trump campaign so it's not like they only do it for Democrats.

It never left the garage.

1)   The SBA defines a small business as an enterprise having fewer than 500 employees

2)   There are almost 28 million small businesses in the US and over 22 million are self employed with no additional payroll or employees (these are called nonemployers)

3)  Over 50% of the working population (120 million individuals) works in a small business

4)   Small businesses have generated over 65% of the net new jobs since 1995

5)   Approximately 543,000 new businesses get started each month (but more employer businesses shut down than start up each month)

6)   7 out of 10 new employer firms survive at least 2 years, half at least 5 years, a third at least 10 years and a quarter stay in business 15 years or more

7)  52% of all small businesses are home-based

8   There were 22.5 million nonemployer firms in 2011 (up almost 2% from the year before)

https://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonnazar/2013/09/09/16-surprising-statistics-about-small-businesses/#e70872b5ec88 (https://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonnazar/2013/09/09/16-surprising-statistics-about-small-businesses/#e70872b5ec88)

Most small business never leave the garage. There are over 14 million single employee companies run out of private residences in America.

Please refer to my classification scheme regarding the way getbiggers classify income.

SF1900's classification scheme to describe socioeconomic status based on income per year. Data was collected from Getbig.com

Source:

1900, SF (2015). An alternative classification scheme to describe socioeconomic status. Journal of Getbig.com, 14, 150-190. doi: schmoe

>$100,000 - homeless

$101,000 - $450,000 = poor

$451,000 - $750,000 = low middle class

$751,000 - $1,000,000 - middle class

$1,100,000 - $5,000,000 = upper middle class

$5,100,000 - $50,000,000 = rich

$51,000,000+ = super wealthy

you know what I was a bit off

I just added up the numbers for this month again and it's slightly over 40k (40,287.13 to be exact)

To be fair, this has been my best month of the year.

Still, nothing compared to what you make in a week selling online tire flipping lessons

Nope, not yet, but the gym was pretty consistent with $35-$60k which is why, although I'm pissed at the way it was handled, is one of the reason's why I'm not sweating my finances now. Without the big OH, I'm even more at ease.

What was your gross revenue to net 35k-60k a week?

I'm sorry. I can't take anything you say seriously anymore. You've entered SuckMyMuscle territory with that preposterous claim and it just underscores how much of an idiot I and others here were to even reply to you on ANYTHING to begin with. You were, and always have been, trolling, because everything you say is irrefutably false and dishonest.

It's hilarious that you think making 40k a month is "preposterous"

Must suck for you that you can even imagine something that people all over this country do every month ( or MUCH MORE)

I've been self employed in the same line of work since 1992

I have client is a produce broker.   He sits in an office a few miles south of the produce markets in South San Francisco and talks on the phone all day.  He makes 7 figures (net income) every year.

I have another client who is a software sales and makes close to 7 figures every year.

I have another client who is a manufactures rep and nets between 1 and 2 million a year.

My income is VERY modest compared to them and nothing special at all in the bay area

I average ~ somewhere in the 20k range on an annualized basis most years (as I said previously October was my best month of the year). Not really that impressive.

BTW  - I didn't bring up this topic

Our insecure coach is the one who brought it up.

Maybe you should consider posting less and spend more time trying to learn how to make some money

LOL, sure you do. You're not impressing or convincing me with your fake resume and your fabricated revenue. It's like when goodrum claims to pull in $200,000 a year yet he works in a fucking call center, which I suspect is your real occupation. You're delusional. Another leftist failure with nothing achieved by his 40s.

I said 1992 (I got out of college in 1988) and no I'm not an insurance agent although I know those guys can make great money once they build up a book of business

I can tell you that I really wish I knew about the produce brokering biz back when I first got out of school

My friend/client works from about 6/7 am to about 2pm most days and makes ridiculous amount of money.

Then your story is even more incredible and threadbare than it appeared originally. You're not helping yourself by exaggerating it even more.

That's not what happened. You deliberately referred to your fictitious income as a means to impress others and minimize Coach's occupation and salary. That suggests you care more than you're letting on, as per usual.

I recall you claiming you make sums of money that you don't make, so your credibility isn't worth a box of piss on this board. People who do as well as you claim don't feel the need to brag about it on a Internet message board, sorry. Literally zero people do that.

Nike

Nike didn't even have a garage to begin with.

If you think a garage is too small a space to start a billion dollar business, get this, Nike started in the trunk of a car. Yes, that's right. Nike began as Blue Ribbon Sports in 1964 in the trunk of its founders, Phil Knight's Plymouth Valiant. While Knight made shoes, his coach at the University of Oregon, Bill Bowerman tested them on runners. For the first 2 years, it couldn't even find any retailer.

I started a model railway in a garage but this is the UK and most of the time its fucking cold in there and the track, trains and my balls freeze.
