IRONAT ... I gotta agree with ya concerning STARSHIP TROOPERS ... one of my favotite movies of all time.
Released in 1997 and directed by Paul Verhoeven who also directed ROBOCop and TOTAL RECALL. The perfect on-screen story teller!
STARSHIP TROOPERS kinda reminded me of my old Boot Camp days and it caught and projected the essence of military comrad-ship better than any other war movie I've ever seen !
But the second and the third were nothing like the first!

Agreed. The sequels were really bad.
Heinlein's book "Starship Troopers" upon which the movie is loosely based is a good read. I recommend it.
