C is not an option according the the people. The majority voted to leave. Why can’t Britain just secure better trade deals with commonwealth nations? I understand continental Europe is closer, but maybe there’s a better deals and trading partners out there.
well seeing as the majority of UK trade is done with the EU some might say it's more important to make sure you don't fk up the current trade deal you have with your biggest trading partner.
yes the people voted to leave. the problem is nobody knew what "leaving" looked like at the time of the referendum. that's how the EU works, negotiations on a leave deal can't start until you officially start the leaving process by triggering article 50. once the public voted to leave the UK then triggered article 50.
so now the deal has been negotiated you have politicians on all sides of the argument trying to say this is isn't the brexit the people voted for. the remainers obviously want to somehow stay in the EU and the brexiteers want to sever ties further than the current deal proposes.
the only way to shut all of these fkers up once and for all is to put it back to the people now the deal has been negotiated. there could be no further bleating from any quarter about "this isn't what the people voted for" following that.
personally from what i've seen the deal is OK. it ends "freedom of movement" and it allows free and unhindered trade to continue.
And considering at the start of negotiations the EU were adamant that you could never have free trade unless you accepted freedom movement...i think may has done pretty well to get them to back down on that.
at the end of the day immigration from eastern europe was really what is was all about. Before the EU opened it's borders to eastern europe UK voters had absolutely zero interest in anything to do with the EU/europe.
