Title: America Today
Post by: ilalin on November 29, 2018, 10:50:41 AM
The mall attack made national headlines after the police admitted wrongly shooting and killing Mr Bradford at the mall.

It happened just before the Black Friday sales outside a footwear retailer and, according to Al.com, may have been an argument over some training shoes.

As people fled, witnesses reported many people had their own guns out
, according to NPR.

When police arrived on scene, a uniformed officer saw Mr Bradford with a firearm and shot him dead, believing him to be the gunman.

Police initially praised that officer as a "hero". But they later admitted their initial report was "not totally accurate".

Mr Bradford's family cited witnesses as saying that he had been trying to help by waving people to safety.

The unnamed officer who killed Mr Bradford during the shooting has reportedly been placed on administrative leave.

I propose arming the people working at shoe stores with AK-47's.

Unfortunate but not uncommon.

The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun!

...until the cops shoot the good guy with the gun.

If only Mr. Bradford could defend himself against the cops.

Or if the cop didn't have a gun this wouldn't have happened.

Or if there were laws that said you can't brandish your gun in a public place.

Or if there were laws that required gun training for private citizens.

Or if we remember that the foundation of America was built on owning firearms to defend ones self and that shoot outs at noon outside "The Okay Corral" were a way of life and that gun violence is our well deserved heritage.

Or maybe we can remember that we complain that the world is over crowded, full of idoits and we can rest easily that there is one less fool walking in public.

Or if Mr Bradford realized that people panic when civilians display firearms.

Or we recognize that owning a gun has consequences.

Stop crying.

I propose arming the people working at shoe stores with AK-47's.

An AR-15 would make more sense - Lighter, longer range, more manufacturers, and more accurate than an AK-47. But that’s just my opinion :)

At those close ranges I would take 7.62x39.

Yes, let’s blame systemic racism for a certain group committing a disproportionate amount of crime, and, as a result of people, police included, being more suspicious of them.

Homicide rates by race. (per 100,000 population):
https://www.acsh.org/news/2017/08/10/african-american-homicide-rate-nearly-quadruple-national-average-11680

20.9 for blacks (non-Hispanic)

4.9 for Hispanics

2.6 for whites (non-Hispanic)

Here’s a radical fucking idea. How about not creating so many situations that require police intervention to the point where the probabilities eventually favor one of them going wrong?

Not to jump on your shit, but has this even turned into a race thing yet?

Hmmm, let me think about it🤔

'He's a black man with a gun': Emantic Bradford's shooting divides city of civil rights | World news | The Guardian

******

Cops got called to a Dindu running wild situation and shot the wrong guy. It’s fucked up but as I said the probabilities favor this happening from time to time simply because of the frequency of situations which require police interventions. Keep putting Cops in positions where they have to make a split second decision and sooner or later they’re going to make the wrong one.

It's not uncommon ??? Really? Can you cite all the times a good guy with a gun has been mistakenly shot by an overzealous policeman?
