Crazy. Has to be mostly the young crowd driving these channels:

it's a sad world we live in but props to the people that milk idiots who watch their crap on the internet
-
Only one I sometimes watch out of those is PewDiePie. The best Youtube channels are always the more obscure ones.
-
How did PewDiePie gather so much attention? He seems like a pretty clever guy but I do not get the appeal.
-
Absurd and total waste of time. This is entertainment for low IQ masses.
Time is precious and goes by very quickly. Time is better spent increasing your knowledge... develop skills... increase your personal power... make money.
-
Tard Genova of course. Guys a billionaire.
-
I think it's mostly children watching these morons. My neighbor's son watches a couple guys on this list all fucking day. I checked them out and it's just idiotic jokes, 'try not to laugh' videos, and them making stupid comments while playing video games.

I bet this one makes some cash . . . She could probably talk me into murder. Sadly, yes I do subscribe ( my guilty pleasure.)

People are conditioned to not complain about corporations producing endless inane entertainment but then become angry and vocal when non-corporate individuals break into media and have success.

Crazy how much money they make just making silly videos.
-
People like to see stupid shit, watch and listen train wrecks, meaning gossip and others demises or failures. It’s said if you capture people’s attention in the first 3-10secs, they’ll watch.

Those are the highest paid though.. and is that lifetime or last year's earnings?
How many YT"s make $100k/year?
Thats a stat I'd like to see
You have 100,000 followers for example.. what are you're expected earnings?
I really doubt anyone other than the top guys are making even $500/month..... even that bikini chick

I've become a recent fan of Marques Brownlee for his tech reviews. He was purported about a year ago to pull $700/day on YouTube. This is in addition to other streams of income he has from the various projects he's involved with. He's 25 years old now and started doing tech reviews when he was 13. Not only is he knowledgeable, but has a nice, pleasant, easy-going manner and not at all pretentious and gimmicky.
I even like the way he says his cliche tagline.
Peace.

I wonder how good is Jay Cutler channel doing monthly .

In the US alone his extended family numbers close to 20000 square people(Ray, Tay, Tray, Gay, Bay, etc.)... so his subscription base is pretty stable.

There are even video game collectors who do you Youtube videos as their full-time job.
Earning enough to live a good standard and still afford regular purchases of collectible games and consoles.
The same applies to all kinds of hobbies really.

Not really, a lot of stuff gets donated and whatever they do buy is a tax write-off. Sweet living reviewing video games

There's a lot of tech shmoes out there - if you're extremely bored take a look at the 8 bit guy's channel... the e-bottoms even have to get a permit to send him something. Some items he gets donated are easily worth a 1000$ if not more.

How many followers does a person generally need to start making money on Youtube?

How many followers does a person generally need to start making money on Youtube?
I don't think it goes by followers but pay is based on views of each video.. YT doesn't care how many followers you have.. they care how many views your videos have
-
the money they make is largely based on the ads, which i don't understand how anybody watches these ads when there is a thing called adblock
this financial education channel doesn't get that many views compared to the well known youtubers, but claims he makes 50k a month on youtube
i think vegan gains said he made about 60k a year
education channels make more than video game or pranking channels, a lot of them also have a patreon page wear people pretty much give them tips every month
if you produce videos that hundreds of thousands of people watch you should get paid for it
