When a rear engine car corners, there is a threshold that when you go over, the handling abruptly goes from under-steer to over-steer, and you "spin out".
A turbocharger has "turbo lag"...This is the time from when you step on it to when the engine starts delivering the power. As a result a driver can accidentally put too much power out while cornering and aggravate the over-steer and spin out....badly.
Google "Porsche turbo 911 widow maker".

This is the rational for "mid engine" cars...where designers sacrifice the back seat and put the power plant completely inside the wheel base...

Yes - I knew all that
Fair answer though
Owning a 911 Porsche it’s part & parcel
Though the understeer To oversteer can be an issue
And has caught many out - including my misses, she spun the car 360
Thankfully no damage to Her or the car. Phew!!

They have kind of used brute force engineering to overcome the pendulum effect of the rear engine layout between the awd to solve some traction issues like under braking when the car lurches down in front and the rear loses the grip, and the twin turbo setups to deliver a more linear throttle response. They have pretty fabulous brakes as well. Purists hate them but I love the way the 928 looks.
