No suit. Just wraps.

INSANE lift. Many would say impossible if not for him doing it.

lol a somewhat valid point wes, I’m not sure how good your memory is with old school powerlifting but there was a guy bye the name of Don Reinhoudt who lifted in the 1970s...he was famous for NOT wearing ANYTHING other than a belt, without looking it up I’m
Pretty sure he squated over 900lbs a few times with NOTHING in the way of powerlifting aides...Paul Anderson another famous squatter from the 1950s-60s was also extremely powerful WITHOUT the use of knee wraps etc.

Be interesting too see what the biggest squat in history would be with no knee wraps, no belts and no powerlifting “super suits” witch adds several hundred pounds for some individuals

Once again, because several people are confused....the athlete is NOT wearing a squat suit.  Did you guys even watch the video?

I'm not sure if you're trolling or not but where do you see a suit? belt + knee wraps, that's all. Dude is legit strong.

Not my brand of squat (too wide/too shallow), but an immense lift all the same.

With a moderate stance and full depth, I’d wager his squat would decrease as much as four-five hundred pounds. Easy.

Maybe he was going to be fat and ugly regardless so he chose to be fat and ugly and strong.

That’s pretty much the reason the average person has zero interest in power lifters. They just look like fat people on the verge of a heart attack. People said the same thing about the great Olympic lifter Vasily Alekseyev- he just looked like a big fat guy. Not exactly a look you aspire to.

The average weight lifting Instagram “star” gets 1000x more attention than any powerlifter- and that ultimately drives the popularity of the activity.

My room mate in college came from Dunkirk NY and learned to lift from Don. He was in awe of him and said he was a very modest and genuinely nice guy. He was also  squatted 934.5 pounds raw 😁

Those "suits" are stupid and make any lifts while wearing them totally without merit.

It really does seem like a worthless activity, despite being that strong, you're that overweight.

 :o

Anyone aware of any studies that monitor BP during a big lift like that..?  With a valsalva maneuver thrown in for good measure it's got to be, what?  300/200 maybe..?

Not a suit, just a regular, required singlet.

Blood pressure changes during heavy-resistance exercise.

"Extremely high blood pressure elevations of up to 345/245 mmHg were observed during the lifts.
Squatting caused the highest pressure rises and single-arm curls the lowest."

So with a moderate stance and full depth this world record holder only does 657 lbs?
